EARLY LEARNING CENTER
Programming for students at the Early Learning Center got off to a great start last week! Students continued to develop skills in reading, art and much more.
MARY C. BURKE ELEMENTARY COMPLEX
FKO Summer Program
Including projects like designing benches for bus stops, the hands-on learning in Math and STEM at FKO is well underway!
Soccer Without Borders
Today was the first day of the Soccer Without Borders summer program at the Burke Complex! Students met with their coaches, had their first team meeting, did some drills, and played a scrimmage! Students worked up a sweat and had a great time!
MIDDLE SCHOOL & HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMS
Acceleration Academy
In Middle School Acceleration in STEM we have started working on how to engineer prosthetic animal limbs, in art we are starting to make self portraits of ourselves and in humanities we have started looking at immigration and how it connects to our city Chelsea.
Credit Recovery Program
Credit Recovery is in full swing with over 110 students registered! Counselor Thomas Kendrick is ready to manage students’ transcripts to make sure they get the credits they earned during the summer. Students are working hard to make up classes from the school year.

Multilingual Learners Summer Program & Credit Recovery
Teachers are hard at work to provide students' with opportunities to recover credits for HS Math and English classes.
In addition, middle school and HS students are having the opportunity to engage in academic discussions, writing exercises, and online activities using Flashlight360 platform as well as Teacher Created Material program for Math and English. By attending summer enrichment classes, students are ensuring a continuous English language acquisition process and an easier transition into the next school year.

1 to 1 Help 😊
Students eased back into school with lots of fun activities, small group work, and 1:1 services.
Small Group Work
5th and 6th graders tackled a novel based on their needs, such as reading together in a small group.
Educational Games 🤗
High School students had no trouble easing back into school with educational and competitive Kahoots.
Independent Work Time
Students worked hard independently on their assignments.
