Future Second Grade Families
All first grade students will need to get a dental exam for 2nd grade. Please remember to get the Illinois School form and turn it in after your next check up!
5th Grade Physicals for 6th Grade
It's not too early to schedule your physical for the 2025-2026 school year. All 6th grade students must have a current physical with updated immunizations in order to receive a schedule and start middle school in the fall. Call their health provider to make an appointment soon.
Birthday Treats
To promote a positive, safe, and healthy lifestyle and classroom learning community, birthday celebrations at school will not include treats or favors from home. Teachers will choose to celebrate students in their classroom in grade and age appropriate ways.

A Note from the President
We Need You!
Did you know as a parent of a DGS student you are automatically a member of our Parents Club? Join us May 6th at 7pm for our next meeting. We will be holding elections for Executive Board Officers for the 2025-2026 School Year. We still need a lot of volunteers for our Board Committee Chairs (no election required, you just volunteer). We will also be voting on the 2025-2026 Budget. Come get involved as we begin to plan the fun-filled events we host throughout the year. Please email Annalee at dunlapparentsclub@gmail.com if you have any questions. We can't wait to meet you!
Fall will be here before we know it, and the Parents Club needs YOU to continue offering our programs and activities for the next school year. Please consider this an invitation to get to know other parents, your child's teacher, and the entire staff at DGS by volunteering with the Parents Club. Many of these volunteer opportunities can be done even if you work full time. Please check out the PC website under the “Meet the Team” tab. At the bottom of that page there is a link to descriptions and detailed responsibilities of each position.
If you are interested in finding out more information about the officer positions and the committee chair positions, please contact any of the current officers.
A big thank you to everyone that helped make Parents Club a success this year. When PC succeeds, our Royals succeed! Enjoy the last few weeks of school and have a great summer!
Thanks,
Annalee Huntington
DGS Parents Club President

Students are thrilled about the opportunity to bring their special person to school, and it is a great way to thank those that work so hard throughout the year to take care of the students.
