BCHS is Finishing the 24-25 School Year STRONG!!
BCHS Families,
We are just a hop, skip, and a jump away from graduating the incredible Class of 2025 and moving into summer break! Our Jaguars are working hard and their achievement is so evident-- on the court, on the stage, in the classroom, and in competitions! BCHS is seeing our students, and staff do incredible things! As a school, students consistently showed growth in reading and math on our newly implemented district assessment, the NWEA Map test. Throughout the year, BCHS students exceeded expected growth and achievement levels in grades 9-12. And progress in learning didn't just show up there-- our Junior class did an absolutely AMAZING job on their state ACT assessment this year! Moving a school a .2 or .4 on the ACT is very hard, and these Juniors moved us and incredible 1.3 points as a school to a comprehensive schoolwide score of 20.6! To give some context, the national average ACT score is a 19.4 with most of the nation only including testers that are taking the assessment by choice for college. Our ACT score represents ALL BCHS junior students! What a testament to our students' hard work, dedication, and learning and to our teachers' focus, instruction, and support! I am so proud of our students and staff! Congratulations, BC!
Please take some time to read below as we highlight many of our end of the year accolades, student successes, and also celebrations that are the heartbeat of BCHS! As we wind down the 24-25 school year, its important to finish strong, focused, and to continue showing incredible Jaguar PRIDE! Thank you for being a part of the BCHS family! We are grateful for you!
With PRIDE,
Mrs. Brittany Sutton

Please plan to bring only essential items to school. If needed, students may carry these items in a small bag, like a drawstring tote or a small shopping bag. Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated as we work towards a smooth and secure end to the school year.
Wednesday, May 21st is a full-day schedule. Final exams will occur in periods 4/5, 6, and 7.
Thursday, May 22nd is a half-day early release at 11 am. Students will take exams in periods 1, 2, and 3. The 22nd is the last day of the 24-25 school year! We wish our Jaguars an amazingly fun and safe summer break!

Congratulations to our BCHS Preschool!
After 6 weeks of assessments, the BCHS Preschool was awarded 5 Stars by Quality First! In Arizona, a Quality First star rating is a quality rating system for preschool programs, with ratings ranging from 1 to 5 stars. These ratings help families find high-quality care and also encourage providers to continuously improve their programs.
We are so proud of our Little Jags and our incredible teachers that run this exceptional program!
Our BCHS Preschool is currently accepting enrollments for the 25-26 school year! Please share with any families that are looking for a wonderful place for their preschooler to learn and grow!
Check Us Out at BCHS.DVUSD.ORG!
We are so excited to share the updated BCHS website with you at http://bchs.dvusd.org. The new website is organized to help access important information as well as show you all about BCHS.
Here are some helpful tips for navigation:
- Click on the headings ("Student Life," "Families," "Academics," "Athletics," of "About") for a page that accesses all information in that category. This may be easier than scrolling on the pop up menu, but that is an option as well.
- Scroll down on the home page for our calendar with upcoming events and dates.
- Scroll further down on the home page, past the second red menu bar, for quick links to common items such as Flex Time info, All Things EQ, our Newsletter, Principal Communications, Campus Tours, et cetera.
We are excited to showcase this new website and to use it to continue communications and resources on all things BC!
Reception Desk Tip
We are happy to assist our parent and guardians at our reception desk in the front office; however, please remember parents/guardians must show proper photo identification so we can verify who we are speaking to or releasing students to for student safety and security. We so appreciate your understanding and support!

Show that Jaguar P.R.I.D.E!
BC Jaguar PRIDE means that our Jaguars are Prepared, Respectful, have Integrity, are Disciplined, and show that Everyone is united! To ensure a safe, focused, and positive learning environment, we PRIDE expectations with students on Thursday in second period.
- This includes our expectation that students keep their cellphones on silent mode in their backpack so students can properly engage in learning.
- Students should be prepared with a fully charged iPad each day and any other items required for class to help with their success.
- It is also critical that students are in class and on time to be present for learning which is critical for their success.
- We also expect our students to be respectful of classrooms, school and personal property each and every day.
Please review our BCHS PRIDE expectations in our Student/Parent Handbook . Taking time to show Jaguar PRIDE is important as we work toward our mission of providing “a safe learning environment with rigorous academic opportunities for all students to graduate as productive, responsible, and contributing citizens!”
