Ford Family Scholarship - 90% of College Costs
DUE MARCH 3RD: Ford Family Scholars
This amazing scholarship provides 90% of unmet college costs of attending college. The Ford Scholars Program is an undergraduate scholarship available to promising high school seniors or recent high school graduates who work hard, have significant financial need and face barriers to higher education. Up to 130 renewable scholarships are awarded each year to students from Oregon and Siskiyou County, California.

OSAC (Oregon Student Access and Completion)
OSAC offers one application for over 600 scholarships. Due Feb 18 for early birds (get entered for a drawing of $1,000), March 3rd this application consists of 3 short essays (the same as the PCC Foundation Scholarship!) and details on activities. Come to the College and Career Center for help finding scholarships in the OSAC database or check out this spreadsheet. Apply for OSAC via this link.

DUE DATE - SCHOLARSHIP NAME - AMOUNT
The scholarship provides supplementary assistance to qualified individuals of farmworker households in Oregon interested in beginning or continuing their post-secondary education.
2/14 Oregon Music Hall of Fame College Scholarships $2,500
Each applicant should be a student studying music with a talent of instrument or voice. Applicants must be graduating from an Oregon high school and continuing their collegiate academics with a major or minor in music at any college or university in the country.
2/15 Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF). $5,000
HSA awards 10,000 scholarships per year to students who are documented (Citizen, Permanent Legal Resident, DACA ) and plan to attend a 4 year university
2/9 Association for Computer Professionals in Education (ACPE) $3,000
These scholarships are available those who have been actively involved in the use of technology during their high school careers and are planning to pursue studies in a technology related field.
2/16 Oregon Young Employee Safety Media Contest $500
This video contest is designed to increase teen on-the-job safety awareness using the overall theme “Speak up. Work safe.” Students are encouraged to develop a key message or slogan, use humor, and get creative, while emphasizing ways to protect themselves (and their friends) at work.
2/18 Richard G. Zimmerman Scholarship $5,000
To be eligible, applicants must: be a high school senior planning to attend college this year, have a 3.0 grade-point average or higher, and plan to pursue a career in journalism. The application consists of a short pitch, a 500 word essay, a description of your financial need, three work samples, and three letters of recommendation.
2/20 Point Foundation Community College Scholarship $4,800
Must be “out” as a person who identifies as a member of the LGBTQ community. Factors considered: Financial need or independence, Personal history, Academic achievement, Community involvement and work experience Must be enrolled at least half-time in college (6 credits) or cosmetology school.
2/20 The Gordon A Rich Memorial Foundation $12,500 (renewable)
Available to offspring of those working in the financial services industry. Awarded to bright, hardworking high school seniors who have a financial need. Parents and/or legal guardians of the student applying must have, or had, a career in the financial services industry. Must rank in the top 20% of their graduating class.
2/20 Vegetarian Resource Group Scholarship
Applicants will be judged on having shown compassion, courage, and a strong commitment to promoting a peaceful world through a vegetarian diet/lifestyle. Provide proof of documentation related to your promotion of vegetarianism. Essay required.
2/23 AMS Minority Scholarship Minority $3,000 (renewing for 2 years)
must plan to pursue careers in the atmospheric or related oceanic and hydrologic sciences. Marine Biology is not eligible. Awarded to minority students who have been traditionally underrepresented in the sciences.
2/29 The Dream.US DACA students or undocumented students in US since Nov 1, 2014. Dreamers who have high academics and significant financial need. Only available at specific state colleges.
2/26 Scholars Helping Collars $1,500
For graduating seniors who work to help animals in need. Essay detailing volunteer efforts relating to animals and how involvement has changed life and community.
2/28 Mente Scholarship $1,000
Oregon Latinx males with a financial need
2/28 Optimist International District level Essay Contest $2,500
Beaverton Optimist Club Essay Contest. The winner of the club's contest will be entered in the District Level contest. Applicants must be under the age of 19 as of October 1.
2/28 Donald and Barbara Mozley Scholarship $5,000
For students pursuing an engineering degree at an ABET-accredited college or university.(OSU engineering programs are ABET accredited programs). Applicant must have a Total SAT score of 1220 or higher and/or an ACT composite score of 27 or above, FAFSA required, one letter of recommendation.
Distinguished Young Women Scholarship Program - HS Juniors
Due March 20th
With a mission to positively impact the lives of young women, Distinguished Young Women provides scholarships and life-enhancing experiences at the local, state and national levels. Along with cash scholarships, Distinguished Young Women participants are eligible for college-granted scholarships from colleges and universities across the country.
Distinguished Young Women is a program specifically for girls who are high school juniors. The program promotes self-confidence, interviewing and public speaking skills, academic excellence, fitness, and the ability to think and communicate clearly. Participants are judged in the following areas:
- Scholastics (25% of overall score) Participants are evaluated on their grades, course load, test scores, and overall academic success.
- Interview (25% of overall score) Judges evaluate a participant’s mental alertness, perception, clarity of expression, accomplishments, personality, and sense of values.
- Talent (20% of overall score) Participants perform a 90 second talent that can be anything from musical performances to scientific demonstrations. Judges look for technical ability, stage presence, and execution.
- Fitness (15% of overall score) Participants are judged on their overall physical stamina, coordination, agility, and flexibility during a choreographed aerobic routine.
- Self-Expression (15% of overall score) Judges evaluate a participant’s grace, poise, demeanor, carriage, and speaking ability in front of an audience.

UC Irvine Summer Programs for High School Students
UC Irvine has a variety of programs designed for students who are planning for college and exploring ways to jumpstart their future careers. These programs offer an incredible opportunity for students to step onto campus, engage in hands-on research and projects, and explore their passions while getting a real feel for college life. They’ll build meaningful connections with like-minded peers and mentors, gain valuable career insights, and feel supported and inspired by the vibrant UC Irvine community.

MobilizeGreen presents our new EcoPath College Connection Program, where students spend three weeks preparing for college while exploring potential majors and career opportunities. This program is designed for high school juniors, seniors, and recent graduates not yet enrolled in an undergraduate program. Spring Applications for both participants and program leaders are open now!
EcoPath College Connection Program will take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays. During the first week, there will be one Monday meeting serving as an orientation day for students. Leaders for the program will have a training period a week prior to the first cohort and a closing period the week after the second cohort.
STEM Internship - Saturday Academy - 9-11th graders
Internship - Saturday Academy
9-11th grader interested in a career as a scientist, doctor, engineer or technologist

Jobs: jobs or work if you are under 16
Many companies will slow down their hiring process after the holiday rush. If you're needing work, or under the age of 16, try tapping into your neighborhood. Some ideas include:
- Providing services to watch houses, dogs, take in mail while families are out of town. Some have last minute needs!
- Providing services to take down holiday decorations.
- Providing babysitting services - many parents want some time off to shop or enjoy the holiday.
How to spread the word? You'll need to market yourself. Here are some ideas:
- Create a flyer to pass around to neighbors (neighboring apartments or houses). Find an example HERE
- Create an account on Nextdoor.com - (you may need parent permission) Post a jpeg copy of your flyer and/or resume with a brief description of yourself.
- Create a LinkedIn teen account - very professional! you can link this account to your resume or on your Nextdoor post.

Binky Patrol is an organization that makes blankets and gives them away to children who are in need of comfort. Find info here
