Guest Speakers Needed for Our College Readiness Class
Message from Ms. Aweys
As-salamu alaykum Dear Parents,
I hope you’re doing well! I’m reaching out with a warm invitation to join us as a guest speaker in our College Readiness class here at Bright Horizon Academy. Our students are eager to learn about the real world of work, and who better to guide them than the incredible Muslim parents and volunteers in our community?
I’m looking for volunteers to spend about 25 minutes with us, sharing a bit about your job, career journey, and the skills you use every day. You have the flexibility to choose how you’d like to present—whether it’s a planned presentation or a casual, off-the-cuff conversation with our 10 students. We want this to be comfortable and enjoyable for you, and our students will have the chance to ask questions afterward. Your insights could be just what they need to spark interest in a future career!
Here are the available class period times:
Monday through Thursday: 10:01 AM - 10:51 AM
Friday: 8:15 AM - 9:15 AM
This opportunity is open until the end of the semester, so there’s plenty of time to find a date that works for you. I’d be happy to accommodate your schedule and ensure this is a stress-free experience.
If you’re interested or know someone who would like to participate, please send me an email at sabrina.aweys@issdweb.org. Your participation would mean the world to our students, and I’m sure they’ll enjoy hearing from you as much as you’ll enjoy connecting with them.
Thank you so much for considering this opportunity!
