Purple Week is coming up at the end of September and the time is now to get your purple apparel! We have short and long sleeve shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants and more! All proceeds go directly to cancer and Parkinson’s disease research at Van Andel Institute. Wearing your purple shows your support for the cause - we hope to make this the most successful Purple Week fundraiser yet!!!

Book Clubs are about to begin in your student's 6th grade ELA class. Please click the button below to view a parent guide for information on book selection.

Are you ready to express yourself through the art of dance? The OMS Dance Club, hosted by Mrs. Leneway, invites all middle school students to join us in exploring movement and creativity across various dance genres.

Club Details:
Sessions: Fall, Winter, and Spring
Duration: 6 weeks per session
Time: 2:50 PM - 3:45 PM
Location: OMS Auditorium
Frequency: Once a week (days vary by session)
Cost: Free!
Capacity: Limited to 20 students per session

From hip-hop to contemporary, jazz to ballet, you'll have the chance to dive into different styles and learn and create your own unique dance pieces. Space is limited, so sign up today and start your journey of movement and creativity with the OMS Dance Club! Ms. Black will be leading a trip to the Dominican Republic during Spring Break in 2026. For interested 7th & 8th grade students and families, there will be an informational meeting on Tuesday, September 10 at 6:30pm in room 302. During September, OMS Student Support Staff will be delivering the Signs of Suicide program to all 7th and 8th grade students. This is an evidence based program that teaches students about mental health and how to seek help if they are worried about themselves or a friend. Your student should have brought home an informational letter and resources this past week. Click the button's below to view the letter and resources.
