Lunch with Learners
If you would like to have lunch with your child, you may sign up IN ADVANCE at the office. We are creating space for two families to join their learner during their designated lunch time on Tuesdays or Wednesdays.
- If your child is in kindergarten, 2nd, or 4th grade, then you may sign up to eat in the cafeteria with them on a TUESDAY.
- If your child is in 1st, 3rd or 5th grade, then you may sign up to eat in the cafeteria with them on a WEDNESDAY.
Families may spend time with their child during the designated cafeteria time. Students will then be dismissed for recess, and we kindly ask that families leave at this time, so that we can clean the table for the next grade levels' families.

November Stance of the Month: Empathy
Empathy is the ability to feel how another person is feeling and imagine what it would be like to be in their position. Empathy means you feel and understand someoneโs feelings in your heart.
Help your child understand empathy at home by :
Discussing how to recognize the feelings people are experiencing.
Discussing the importance of listening to the words that people are saying.
Thinking about how others might feel in a variety of situations.
Counselor Corner
Hello Chatfield Families!
Although it is helpful all year round, this time of year offers the opportunity to reflect on everything we are thankful for. Research shows that practicing gratitude has powerful, positive effects on mental health. It can help us adapt to change, cope with difficulties, increase academic success, regulate emotions and improve our mental and physical well-being. Throughout the month of November, students will learn about showing empathy and gratitude at school. Click here for ideas for practicing gratitude at home with your family.
Holiday Donations Reminder!
Chatfieldโs deadline to request Christmas gifts is Nov. 17th. Requests can be made here (English form / Spanish form).
Another resource for holiday assistance is completing an application through Hope of the Grand Valley. Their deadline for Christmas gifts is Nov. 20th.
As always, Iโm here to help with any questions or information you need.
Kindly,

Staff Shout Outs
๐ We Couldn't Do it Without YOU! ๐
Amy Warinner: 4th Grade Teacher
Mrs. Warinner has always been a life long learner, so becoming a teacher and knowing that she could continue to grow is the reason she became a teacher. According to Mrs. Warinner, "There is no greater joy in life than seeing a student achieve success whether it is emotional, academic, or behavioral."
Aura VanVleet: 4th Grade Teacher
This is her tenth year at Chatfield and she loves teaching here. The reason she enjoys teaching is because it allows her to give back to her community, while also growing herself as an individual . She values getting the incredible opportunity to help support students with a variety of needs and be there to celebrate when they overcome challenges.
Daniella Brengelmann: Speech Pathologist
Daniella Brengelmann is our new Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) at Chatfield. She graduated in the summer of 2023 from University of Northern Colorado, and decide to move to Grand Junction after riding in the Tour of the Moon bike ride.
She became a SLP because she believes that communication is a fundamental human right and that everyone deserves a voice. She has a passion for working with kids, in particular, building their confidence by supporting their ability to engage in the world around them and encourage them to be their best self.
