Cypress Springs High School
September 2024
Dear Cypress Springs Families,
We are so excited to welcome our Panthers to the 2024-25 School Year!! We have so many exciting activities ahead of us and a wonderful year of LEARNING!
The first day of school is August 19th. Doors open at 6:50 am and the tardy bell rings at 7:15. Please check the CFISD Transportation Page to determine if your child is eligible for transportation. Make plans early to make sure your scholar can arrive to school on time. Also, if your scholar will be dropped off, plan to arrive early to beat the traffic (6:50-7:00 is the optimal window). See below for morning drop off map and instructions. It is unsafe to drop off students in the front parking lots. Please follow the directions below for everyone's safety. Traffic may be heavier than normal the first few days, so please pack your patience!
Please remember to charge all student devices by Sunday, August 18th. There will be important updates to the device once it turns on.
Remember to visit the Home Access Center to access the your scholar's fall schedule and complete your 2024-25 School Update. Class schedules will only be available via the HAC. There will also be
staff available to assist new students in locating their classrooms.
All students Freshman, Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors are in store for a fabulous year at Cypress Springs! We can't wait to see you at THAT School - All Day, Every Day!
See you soon!

Parents - We need your help! Attendance Matters!
This year, one of our main goals at Cypress Springs High School is to improve our attendance. If students are not in class, they are not learning the necessary content in order to be academically successful.
One important note - when students don't attend school, our district loses millions of dollars that should be used to hire teachers, purchase supplies and transportation - just to name a few!
Please help us to improve our attendance so we can all provide the necessary resources to support student learning.

Panther Parents and Guardians, we are thrilled to start the new school year with you. We want to remind you that the deadline to make any course or elective changes was Tuesday, April 30, 2024, and course changes are no longer allowed. We have communicated this deadline through various channels such as announcements, callouts, course verifications, and a marquee announcement. This deadline was set to finalize the master schedule and complete the hiring process for the staff. As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we invite you to participate in the CSHS Counselors Need assessment. This assessment will give us insight into what you believe is significant for your scholar. Please scan the link/QR code below. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your child’s counselor. The counselor's contact information is listed below. Thank you for partnering with us to ensure the success of our scholars this school year.
Student Code of Conduct and Student Handbook

Cell Phones - are NOT allowed to be used in the classroom and during class time. All students have a CFISD device to access their classroom resources. After a warning, student cellphones will be confiscated a $15 fee will be charged, AND the parent will be required to come to the school to retrieve the cellphone.
Headphones are NOT ALLOWED in the hallways. Students may use headphones during lunch time (in the commons) only.
Quick Dress Code reminders:
- Dress for success / Dress like a SCHOLAR!
- Pajamas / pajama pants are not allowed
- All shirts / tops must cover midriff - no crop tops
- All pants must fit on the waist (no sagging)
- Shorts, skirts, dresses, holes in pants - all lengths must be MID-THIGH.
- Clothing must not display offensive language.
A full list of appropriate wear will be reviewed during code of conduct assemblies. The CFISD Student Code of Conduct has a full list as well.
Please read this important information regarding the laws on vaping and e-cigarettes. This is not only a health concern for our youth, but there are serious legal implications for our scholars when found in possession of these items.

Cafeteria & Meal Programs
2024-25 Free & Reduced Meals - Plus other benefits
NEW THIS YEAR - Students who qualify for reduced lunch will receive breakfast and lunch at NO COST!!!! - Please fill out that application at schoolcafe.com today!!
The Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) administers school nutrition programs in Texas and offers an eligibility calculator at www.SquareMeals.org/ProgramEligibility.
The application will determine a child’s eligibility for free and reduced-price meals and may assist in the determination of eligibility for other state or federal benefits. Only one application needs to be completed per household. Decisions regarding payment for school meals are made at the national-government level, not by the school nutrition team or TDA. The household will then be notified of the child’s eligibility.
- Free & Reduced Meals Application Questions about the Free and Reduced Lunch Program? Contact the office at 281-897-4550 or freeandreduced@cfisd.net
