The Wildcat Way
May 2025
A message from Principal, Marcia Case
Evans Families,
What a year it’s been! I was definitely caught up in the excitement of our awards and recognition this month, and I'm thrilled to see the positive outcomes of our students' and staff members' hard work and commitment to excellence this year. 💛💙
First and foremost, our students have shown incredible academic growth – 70% of Evans students demonstrated a year or more of academic growth in both literacy and math district end of year assessments. We had a blast celebrating our Wildcats who showed consistent high growth with Hall of Fame status! Blue and Gold level students were rewarded with weekly treats and activities, such as Dodgeball in the gym, ice cream sundaes, face paint, karaoke, and so much more!
We were also just notified that Jostens Renaissance has granted us PLATINUM level of distinction again this year, based on the culture we've built for staff and families, and the student outcomes it's driven. See the official announcement and details below!
In addition, Evans was showcased well at the annual D49 Employees of the Year Celebration:
Megan Greene – Food and Nutrition Services Employee of the Year
Janette De Leon – Base49 Employee of the Year
Diane Jerrett – Evans Teacher of the Year
Lindsey Hurley – Evans Support Star of the Year
Kim Beckworth – Sand Creek Zone Volunteer of the Year
I'm incredibly proud of the talent and dedication that exists in every corner of our school. 💛💙 We are part of a remarkable community and I appreciate all of the support provided by families and staff to coordinate the special end of year events at Evans that are so meaningful to students.
We look forward to a busy campus this summer! Exciting projects and updates will include a refreshed courtyard in the front of our building, new interior paint, and a new gym floor. Please come to our Open House on July 31st (4:00-6:00pm) for the official reveal!
Wishing you a safe and fun summer!
Marcia Case

🎉🎉 CONGRATULATIONS TO WILDCAT NATION!! 🎉🎉
Jostens Renaissance Announcement:
We are honored to share that Evans has been named a 2025 Platinum School of Distinction! Congratulations on achieving this award for the top 2% of Renaissance schools!
Thank you to everyone who contributes to our Renaissance efforts and the Wildcat culture!! 💛💙
We look forward to attending the Jostens Renaissance Awards Gala this summer, where the Evans staff will be formally recognized for this achievement.
**Class Placement Update**
Due to the growing number of families requesting specific teachers, and the many factors we consider in creating balanced, successful classrooms, we are no longer able to honor specific teacher requests.
Every teacher at Evans is truly fantastic, and we know your student can thrive no matter where they’re placed.
Class placements for next year are complete and we feel confident about the thoughtful choices we’ve made for each student. Class lists won’t be shared yet, as adjustments may still happen over the summer.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
Wishing you all a relaxing and joyful summer break!
Sincerely,
The Evans Team

✅ 2025-2026 School Year "To-Do" ✅
To ensure our D49 families have a successful transition into next school year we are requesting you sign into your Parent Portal account and complete the D49 - Intent to Return Ecollect form.
This will communicate your plans for next year, i.e. if your student plans on returning to Evans or if they will be transferring to another school or leaving the state of Colorado.
We appreciate you communicating this important information for our planning and to ensure all students are set up for success.
If you do not have a Parent Portal account, please refer to this resource on how to create one, or contact your current school office staff.
Please note, that a school of choice application is not required unless your address has changed and you are no longer within your current school’s boundaries or if you are requesting enrollment consideration for a different school the following year.
April Beach Party at Skate City
Students and their families had a great time supporting Evans at Skate City! Surprise guest SpongeBob made an appearance and everyone had a blast! Thank you to all who joined!
Evans Gifted Fair 2025
Our Gifted Education teacher, Ms. Clarke, hosted an engaging Gifted Fair, where students and parents toured a showcase of incredible projects! It was a wonderful opportunity to support, learn from, and celebrate the creativity and hard work of our gifted learners.
"Paws for Effect" Improv Group
Our talented Music Theatre teacher, Ms. Grosz, led a lively after-school Improv group for 4th and 5th graders this spring! Practicing together twice a week, these young performers built their skills and confidence - culminating in a fun final performance for families. Bravo! 👏✨
