Falcon Flash
November 20, 2024
Dear Saint Patrick Catholic School Families,
Peter has always been one of my favorite people in the Bible, not in spite of his faults but because of them. He was impulsive, often speaking or acting before thinking. He denied Jesus three times out of fear, even after boldly declaring he would never do so. He faltered in faith while walking on water. Yet, despite all this, Jesus chose him as the rock upon which He built His Church.
This gives me great hope because it reminds us that God doesn’t wait for perfection. He works through us as we are, faults and all, transforming our weaknesses into strengths through His grace.
“Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. ‘Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened.’ But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. For it is better, if it is God’s will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.” — 1 Peter 3:13-17
This passage from Peter’s letter speaks to us about courage, integrity, and the quiet but powerful strength of faith. Peter writes to a Christian community facing persecution, encouraging them to remain steadfast in doing good and to face their trials without fear. Here, Peter calls believers to find solace and confidence in Christ, regardless of the world’s response.
When we live our faith openly, with "gentleness and respect," we demonstrate the character of Christ. This doesn’t mean arguing or proving ourselves right, but rather offering a testimony of peace, love, and genuine joy, which often speaks louder than any defense we might offer. This gentle witness not only reflects Christ’s love to others but also keeps our own hearts anchored in a clear conscience and trust in God’s purpose.
Reflecting on this, we are reminded that every challenge we face can be an opportunity to witness to the power of Christ’s love and the hope we carry. Let us remember Peter’s words: to revere Christ as Lord in our hearts and to let our lives quietly and courageously shine as witnesses to God’s goodness.
May your blessings be abundant,
Rick Logue
Kindergarten Preview and Referral Bonus
We will be holding out Kindergarten Preview on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. This event is a wonderful opportunity for parents to learn about the unique educational experience Saint Patrick Catholic School offers. From faith-based learning to individualized instruction and hands-on activities, we take pride in helping every child grow academically, spiritually, and socially.
While parents learn what makes our school special, children will have the chance to meet our kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Randolph, and spend some time in the classroom. It’s a great way for future students to feel comfortable and excited about joining our school community.
We also need your help! The best form of advertisement for our school is the kind words and positive recommendations from our current families. If you know anyone who would value a faith-based education for their child, please share this event with them. Your support in spreading the word about Saint Patrick Catholic School makes a huge difference.
As an added incentive, we are offering a $250 referral bonus to any family who refers another family to Saint Patrick Catholic School. If the referred family enrolls and remains enrolled for the entire 2025-2026 school year, the bonus will be distributed in May 2026. There is a limit of two referral bonuses per family. Thank you for helping our school grow!
