Westfield MS Band Newsletter
February 27, 2025
Dear Parents/Guardians
I want to first thank all of our band parents, family members, and students for volunteering at this past weekend's IGSMA Solo and Ensemble Contest. The hours of work that the students put in was well represented through your hard work and Mr. K and I are so appreciative of the time dedicated to make this event happen. I'm so proud of the students and their improvements on their solos and ensembles as well!
This email gives final details regarding next Saturday's IGSMA Organizational Festival. We love to have parents and family attend this event to support and cheer on the Cadet and Concert Band in their performances! We are still in need of parent chaperones, please use the link found in this email to sign up! Please reach out with any questions.

IGSMA Organizational Contest- March 8th
The Westfield Middle School Cadet and Concert Bands will both be performing at the IGSMA Organizational Contest on March 8th at Indian Trail Jr. High School in Addison. This contest is open to to all parents and family to enjoy the hard work that the Concert and Cadet Bands have put in. Please send your students with a few extra dollars if they would like to stop at the concession stand!
We will need at least 6 chaperones for this trip as we will be traveling on 2 buses. Please use the link below to sign up as a chaperone! WE STILL NEED 4+ MORE CHAPERONES
PLEASE NOTE: I know that there are some students attending the Science Olympiad on this date. I have worked with Mr. Tuomi to best set up the students with a schedule that they can attend both events. This will require parents to drive students from Science Olympiad to Indian Trails Jr. High School. This is, unfortunately, the only work around possible. Mr. Tuomi and I believe this will be a great opportunity for the students to have an amazing success filled (and slightly tiring) day!
