"Empowering Students to Design Their Own Future"

April 11, 2025 - Principal's Message
Happy April! As we step into spring, I’m so proud of the hard work our students and staff continue to show each day. From Ohio State Testing and classroom projects to spring performances and field trips, there’s no shortage of effort and enthusiasm.
As the weather gets warmer, we encourage everyone to enjoy some fresh air and outdoor time while staying focused on learning. Please check our calendar for upcoming events as we end the year. Your involvement helps keep our community strong and connected.
Let’s finish the school year strong—together!
NRAC March and April Students of the Month
At our April 1st Board of Education meeting, NRAC was excited to recognize some amazing students of the month. The following students were recognized for being Ranger STRONG.
Kayla Conrad - 4th Grade
Mason Brabander - 5th Grade
Kace Moen - 6th Grade
Lauren Farney - 8th Grade
Keep up the great work students. Thank you for being Ranger STRONG, all day long!
3rd and 4th Grade Art Show - Thank you, Mr. Stockdale!!!
Thank you to Mr. Stockdale for all of his hard work and effort in making the Art Show such a success. The student work was fantastic and they were so proud to show off their pieces. We know this time of year can be a little crazy, but so many of our families took the time to come in and it was great to see everyone!
Rolling Out The Red Carpet for Testing!
To support our NRAC students as we start testing, our 5-8 teachers rolled out the red carpet! Students were welcomed to school on Tuesday with the red carpet treatment including signs, words of encouragement and, of course, the red carpet! Our students worked very hard this week to complete the ELA test and we know they'll continue that hard work for the remaining tests.
Ohio State Testing Dates & Information
Testing season is upon us! Students have shown their hard work and growth throughout the school year and are now ready to demonstrate what they’ve learned on the Ohio State Tests.
Below is a breakdown of the state testing days for NRAC for the month of April:
April 8-9 - Elementary/Middle School ELA (grades 3-8) - COMPLETED!!!
April 15-16 - Elementary/Middle School Science (Grades 5 and 8 only)
April 23-24 - Elementary/Middle School Math (Grades 3-8)
Testing will begin promptly at 8:30 am on testing days. Make-up days/times will be determined after the initial testing day/time has been completed. Middle School students enrolled in HS level courses with state tests will take the state tests on the days listed above.
The state requires students to use wired headphones and recommends a wired mouse if needed. Every student has access to a trackpad, which can function as a mouse for state testing. Please note that the district will not provide either headphones or mice.
To help students prepare at home for testing, please be sure students get adequate sleep and get a healthy breakfast. *Breakfast is available for purchase at NRAC each morning, so students can get a healthy meal before they go to class! Students should also make sure to charge their chromebook nightly and bring wired headphones and a wired computer mouse (if needed) on the days of their tests.
If you have questions about state testing, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me, your child’s associate principal or your child’s teachers.

Stop the Hate Contest
Three outstanding NRAC students—Zoey Bloom (6th grade), Elliot Gionfriddo (6th grade), and Madelyn Kimberly (7th grade)—were recognized as finalists in the prestigious Maltz Museum Stop the Hate Contest. Competing against over 2,000 students, they stood out for their powerful poetry submissions, securing three of the six finalist spots.
Zoey Bloom earned an impressive second place for her poem "I Won't," Madelyn Kimberly secured third place for her poem "Jar Full of Kindness," and Elliot Gionfriddo received an honorable mention for her poem "Pointing Out Flaws."
Congratulations to these talented young writers for using their voices to advocate for others and make a meaningful impact in our community!

Spring Panorama Survey
We thank you and your family for being our valued partners as we work together to educate the children in our district. As you may already know, building our social-emotional learning skills is an essential goal for our schools. In December 2024, students in grades 3-12 took the Fall Student Competency and Wellbeing Survey. During the school year, students participated in social-emotional learning lessons from CharacterStrong, Zones of Regulation, Everyday Speech, the Amazing Shake, and the Kevin Love Fund to better understand the social-emotional learning concepts in the survey and to reflect on how they perceive these skills in themselves.
We will ask your child to take the survey again in May to ensure the programming was effective. The survey should take no more than 10 minutes to complete.
The survey content will ask students to self-reflect on themselves in the following areas: emotion regulation, self-management, and social awareness.
We encourage all our students to participate in the surveys, as their feedback offers valuable insights into their experiences and helps us improve and better align our district with their needs. If a student doesn’t feel they have enough information to answer a question, they can skip the item altogether. The responses to the survey will be confidential. We are partnering with a third-party vendor, Panorama Education, to support us in administering these surveys. The Spring survey will be administered on the following dates: NRHS: 5/1/25 and NRAC (3-8) and RHTA (3-8): 5/5/25.
Please click HERE if you would like to opt your child out of participating in the survey. Please respond by Tuesday 4/29/25.
If you have any questions about the Competency and Wellbeing survey, please don’t hesitate to contact Liz Wolanski, Student Wellness and Prevention Coordinator, at elizabethwolanski@nrcs.net or (440) 329-1883.
Parents can review the survey by opening the link below.

Drop Off/Pick Up Information
As the weather is getting warmer, I wanted to take a moment to remind families about the drop off and pick up procedures for NRAC. Early drop off for car riders begins at 7:15 am. Students who are being dropped off by parents will be allowed to enter the building at 7:15 am. Please click HERE to see more information about drop off and pick up procedures.
When dropping students off in the mornings, please be sure to follow the appropriate drop off routes to ensure a faster and more efficient drop off process.
As a reminder to parents who pick up students from school at the end of the day, please follow the appropriate pick up procedures. Please refrain from using the main entrance staff parking lot to pick up students at the end of the day. This is causing a safety concern as buses are loading students and leaving promptly at the end of the school day. If there is a special circumstance that requires your students to be picked up from the main parking lot, please notify our office.
In addition, on the 3-4 side, students should not be exiting vehicles in the parking lot. Parents should stay in the car line with their child and drop them off in the appropriate drop off area. Students and parents are walking through the parking lot and this is not only slowing down the drop off procedure, but it is also a safety concern.
NRAC PBIS Updates
This month at NRAC, students have been focusing on Respect and Ownership across our building. Our 5-8 PBIS award winners from last month are:
