Phalen Flyer
PLA@George H. Fisher School 93
Greetings PLA Families,
Happy Thanksgiving! As a reminder, next week is a short week due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Scholars will attend a full day on Monday (11/25) and will then have early dismissal (11:20) on Tuesday (11/26). Thanksgiving break is from Wednesday, November 27-29.
The weather is getting cold. Please let us know if your child needs a winter coat. We have a limited supply but we are happy to help if we have one in your child's size. Simply send a note to school with your child or reply to this email. As a reminder, scholars should be prepared for outside recess. Classes can go outside if the temperature is above 32 degrees.
This week's cold weather was a reminder to provide you with severe weather procedures. I have listed them below. Be sure to read this section and reach out with any questions.
REMINDER: During arrival, we have two areas for scholars to unload. The first is for buses only. It is the front sidewalk of the school. Cars are prohibited from unloading scholars from their vehicles in the bus zone. If you transport your child to school, all cars must drop off in the car rider line. This is the side driveway. It is well marked and has plenty of staff for enhanced safety. Please help us keep all staff and scholars safe during arrival at school.
Our Community Spotlight this week is Big Brothers Big Sisters. See below for more details.
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Mr. Hendricks
Principal-PLA@93
