- Oklahoma’s Promise is a scholarship that pays college tuition to any college and most career techs in the state of Oklahoma for students whose parents’ total income is not more than $60,000. There are special situation options for eligibility too, such as adoption, so reach out for more information. Eligible students must apply for this scholarship during their eighth, ninth, tenth, or now eleventh grade year! There are two ways to apply! Complete the application online at www.okpromise.org, or get a paper application from your high school counselor, or Jamie Shanks, your GEAR UP School Specialist. Jamie Shanks is available for application help and to answer any questions you have about the scholarship program! Her contact information is jshanks@osrhe.edu.

THS GRADUATION CEREMONIES WILL BE HELD ON WEDNESDAY, MAY 11, 2022 AT 7:00 P.M. AT NORTHEASTERN STATE UNIVERSITY DOC WADLEY STADIUM
Caps and gowns must be worn to participate in graduation ceremonies. If you are JOM, you must call 1-866-238-5336 to place your order and tell them you are a THS student on the JOM list. If you are not JOM, you can order online at www.herffjones.com. Caps and gowns will be shipped to the high school in April. Contact Mrs. Stafford with any questions. stafforda@tahlequahschools.org.

2. Using pictures of a group of people is discouraged. (These are difficult to see on the screen)
3. Pictures need to be appropriate. Inappropriate pictures will not be used.
4. If you have pictures that need to be scanned, bring them to Mrs. Harris and we can scan them for you. Pictures will be returned.
5. Be sure to include student’s name and that pictures are jpeg format.

RiverHawk Hype is an event for newly admitted students staring in the Summer and Fall 2022 semesters. This event is a chance to celebrate the incoming class. During the event you will explore the campus; meet fellow classmates and NSU faculty; enjoy a guest speaker and outdoor lunch with entertainment; learn about your next steps as an admitted student; and explore campus clubs and organizations. FAFSA
1. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov. For the 2022-2023 school year, you can apply beginning Oct. 1, 2021. Apply as soon as possible after October 1, 2021. Awards are made until funds are depleted.
2. Review your Student Aid Report (SAR). The Expected Family Contribution (EFC) is an index number used to determine your eligibility for federal student aid.
3. Contact the school(s) you might attend. Make sure the financial aid office at each school you’re interested in has all the information needed to determine your eligibility.
EVERYONE should fill out the FAFSA! Remember www.fafsa.ed.gov (NOT .com!!!)

Oklahoma Cattle Industry Scholarships. The Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Foundation (OCF) is eager to distribute more the $25,000+ in scholarships to students in 2022. The scholarships are available for graduating high school seniors who have an interest in the beef cattle industry. The application is open February 15-May 2. The Jimmie L. Dean Scholarship Foundation is taking applications for the 2022-2023 academic year. Only four year degree granting programs or certain Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology (OSUIT) programs are eligible for scholarship awards. Please note the qualifications required for all applicants other than OSUIT applicants require a minimum ACT score of 25. The minimum ACT score for OSUIT applicants is 17. Applicants with ACT scores below the minimum will be considered as an incomplete application and will not be considered. Deadline: April 15. www.jimmiedeanfoundation.org.
The Oklahoma City Community Foundation offers several statewide scholarship programs that graduating seniors may qualify for. Scholarship applications may be submitted online. Visit www.occf.org/scholarships for detailed application instructions.
The American Indian Education Fund (AIEF) was established to support educational opportunities for American Indian and Alaska Native students. The deadline to submit the application is April 4, 2022. Students may download the application at www.aiefprogram.org.
