FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

Hello, Dolphin Families!

We are so excited for the first day of school! Tuesday, August 13 is the first day of the 24/25 school year, and we will be ready to open doors and greet our Dolphins at 7:15AM. Because LISD guidelines state families may only escort Kindergarten students to class on the first day of school, we will have several staff members and VOLY-approved volunteers stationed outdoors and throughout the campus to direct students towards their new classroom.

After sending your student indoors, be sure to stop by the front circle drive to enjoy coffee and donuts during our "Seas the Day" event hosted by the Donald PTA. Whether you're celebrating back-to-school, mourning the end of summer, or feeling any emotion in between, this is the perfect opportunity to find like-minded parents in our community!

We look forward to learning with you and our Dolphins this year, and we can't wait to see you tomorrow morning!

Tuesday, August 20 is Fall Picture Day! Students will be taking their pictures before their scheduled lunch and recess to make sure photographers can catch everyone looking their best. Money sent on the day of photos must be attached to the paper Strawbridge order forms that will come home with Monday Mail. Families who place their picture order online don’t need to send anything with their student on picture day!

Strawbridge encourages families to sign up to receive updates via email regarding their child's school portraits. CLICK HERE for updates including promotions, additional deals, and the ability to order more pictures at a later time. When entering student information, parents should be sure to enter the student's name as it is on file at the school.

Join us for the first DNO of the year at Handel's in Flower Mound and treat yourself to some ice cream while giving back to our school!

Mention Donald Elementary when you buy a sweet treat between 5PM and 9PM Tuesday, August 20, and 30% of your purchase will be given to the Donald PTA to support our campus. You'll likely see some of your favorite Donald teachers scooping ice cream as well!

We would love to have you volunteer in our classrooms and at extracurricular events! To get started, JOIN the Donald PTA, and then complete your yearly VOLY Background Check. All volunteers must have a current VOLY Background Check, so if it has been a while since you completed this process, check in with the Donald Office Staff to see if you're approved!
