Welcome back to a brand new school year! It was such a joy to see all of our students bright and eager this morning, ready to begin another exciting year of learning and growth. The energy and enthusiasm in the halls were truly heartwarming, and we are so excited to be back together as a school community.

This is our 4th year hosting an international night and we promise, you will not want to miss this event!

Students receive a "passport" and go around visiting tables to learn about other countries, cultures, and customs! We have a few exciting performances taking place that evening.

We will share more details in upcoming weeks regarding ways you can volunteer for this event! Stay tuned!

On January 9th, we will recognize Law Enforcement Day to honor the dedicated men and women who serve in law enforcement. This day provides an opportunity for our community to express appreciation for their commitment to keeping our schools and neighborhoods safe. We encourage families to take a moment to thank law enforcement officers for their service and support. Together, let's show our gratitude for their efforts in making Katy ISD a secure and welcoming place for all.

We would also like to take this time to show our gratitude to our own campus officer, Christopher Mitchell! Mr. Mitchell plays an essential role in ensuring that MRE remains a safe and welcoming environment for all. We encourage you to take a few minutes to share a shout-out to Officer Mitchell and let him know how much his efforts are appreciated. We will share your compliments with Officer Mitchell on January 9th!

PK-2nd Grade Parents

This is a friendly reminder that the Pizza Hut reading calendars for December are due by Monday, January 13th. We encourage your child to turn in their completed calendar by this date.

ALL Grade Levels

Books checked out before the holidays are now overdue in the system. Students can return their books at any time, not just on library days, and are welcome to check out new books to enjoy.

We are excited to invite you to volunteer your time and lend a helping hand in supporting our teachers! Throughout the year, teachers often have projects that require extra assistance—whether it’s cutting, sorting, gluing, or other tasks—and we would love to have you join us in making these projects come to life.

If you have some time to spare and would like to contribute, please sign up for our first Volunteer Work Day "Howdy Helpers" of 2025. Your help is invaluable and truly makes a difference in creating engaging and meaningful learning experiences for our students.

As we navigate these cold winter days, we kindly ask for your help in labeling all of your child’s clothing and personal items. Teachers work hard to keep our students organized, but with the many coats, hats, gloves, and scarves in the classroom, it can be challenging to ensure everything gets back to the right child. Proper labeling will help us avoid confusion and ensure that your child’s belongings are returned quickly. Thank you for your support in keeping everything organized and making winter a little easier for everyone!
