West Oxford Owl
December 6, 2024
December is a busy month in any school, and we are no exception! This week I saw students playing body systems jeopardy, writing personal narratives, and analyzing data. Ms. Howell's class harvested the cabbage and bok choy they planted in September. Students started their mid year mClass assessments, and we can't wait to share their growth with you. Shepherd's Shakespeare brought the production of Twas the Night Before Christmas to our student body, and our students loved the production!
Congratulations to AJ and Shaquavion, second and third place winners of Granville County School's holiday card contest for K-2! Ms. Gravitt, Ms. Cozart Bullock, and Ms. Bonnemere won grants from the Granville Ed Foundation this week! We will be going on field trips to the mountains and Build A Bear. We will also be converting the old picnic shelter by the playground to a hammock house for students to use for reading. Congratulations to these winners!
Parents, all bus riders need to carry their bus tags. We have tied them to the hooks on their book bags. Please ensure that tags remain attached to the bags so that they can quickly board their bus. If students do not have their tags, we hold up traffic and get delayed on the route as we manually put them in the system.
