Firefly Families,

We had a wonderful week at Alyssa Ferguson Elementary!

Thank you for your patience during dismissal today. We anticipated a stronger storm moving in and while we were fortunate that it didn’t develop as expected, it did result in a longer dismissal process. We truly appreciate your understanding and support in keeping our Fireflies safe.

As a reminder, Monday is a student holiday. We hope our Fireflies enjoy the extra day off and we look forward to seeing them back on Tuesday!

To ensure the health of our school community, please keep your child home if they are experiencing symptoms such as fever, vomiting, diarrhea, severe cough, or any other signs of illness. A fever is anything above 100 degrees.

Contact Nurse Peluse if you have any questions about when your student can return to school. If you are unsure whether to send your child to school, most likely the student should stay home to rest and recover.

Please consult your child's healthcare provider for specific guidance regarding their health concerns. With flu season being in full effect, we must prioritize the health of all students and staff.

We welcome our families to come enjoy lunch with his/her Firefly!

• Guests will sit at the designated guest tables with the student they are visiting.

• Guests will only be allowed to eat with their Firefly when visiting for lunch.

• Guests will only be able to eat with their Firefly on designated days.

• Guests will be invited to exit the cafeteria during the start of the 5-minute quiet SEL moment.

Alyssa Ferguson Elementary is celebrating the rich traditions of Ramadan and Eid, embracing the spirit of reflection, gratitude, and unity.

Come explore our vibrant Ramadan/Eid Cultural Display! A heartfelt thank you to Zahra Mir and Abeer Nawaz for their creativity and dedication in decorating our display case!

Our 5th Grade class will celebrate their departure from elementary school Friday, May 23rd from 2:00-5:00. The PTO provides a budget for our planning team, but we want to go ALL OUT to ensure our Fireflies have a fabulous send off. Please contribute what you can and reach out to Abby with any questions or to confirm your donation.

2nd Grade brought in over $10,000 of the $40,000 we raised during Boosterthon and that deserved some recognition! Center Court Pizza generously donated pizza for the WHOLE grade! We had some very happy Fireflies!

2024 -2025 Meeting Dates

The PTO Board meets monthly at the dates and times listed below. Meetings at 12 pm will be held in person in the Extended Day Room. Meetings held at 7 pm will be on Google Meet.
