Band Buzz: November 6, 2022
Falcon Band and Color Guard
Congratulations to all on a terrific 2022 Marching Season!
Region Band Audition Requirement
The band is going to San Antonio!
Concert Uniforms!
Now that marching season is over, it is time to issue our concert uniforms.
We will issue the boys their black tuxedo jackets and pants after school from 2:45-4:45 on Wednesday, November 9 (Seniors and Juniors), and Thursday, November 10 (Sophomores and Freshman).
- We will need 4 volunteers on each day, so if you can help please send me an email or text.
- The boys tuxedos are new this year and the pants will be extra long and have an “unfinished” hem, so each boy will need to have his pants hemmed. We will not have a tailor come in to do any hemming, so you will need to take the pants to a tailor to have them hemmed at your own expense. TA Tailor & Alterations will hem them for $7 if you tell them you are with the Clear Lake Band. Their address is 122 W. Bay Area Blvd. Webster, TX 77598 (in the shopping center at Hwy 3 and Bay Area anchored by Cookshack on one end and Dollar Tree on the other). Regardless of who you use to have the pants hemmed, please tell them to NOT CUT THE FABRIC when doing the hem.
- To complete their concert uniform, each boy will need to provide his own white dress shirt or tuxedo shirt, black bow-tie and cummerbund, and black dress shoes and socks. They may use their black marching shoes for their concert uniforms. Amazon is a good source for bow-tie and cummerbund sets.
We will issue the girls their long, black dresses after school from 2:45-4:45 on Wednesday, November 16 (Seniors and Juniors), and Thursday, November 17 (Sophomores and Freshman). More information on that in next weeks’s Buzz.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Last 3 Days for Poinsettia, Christmas Cactus Sales!
Poinsettias and Christmas cacti went on sale two weeks ago! Not only is this a fundraiser, but the plants also line the stage for our Holiday concert making a gorgeous display for our students and their Holiday music. Plants will be picked up after the concert on December 6th. Plants are $15 each and are fully dressed and ready to gift.
For every 5 plants sold, a student will have their name entered for a $50 Visa gift card!
Happy Selling!
Butter Braid Orders happening now!
Parents and Students,
This week we kick off our annual Butter Braids Fundraiser! Butter Braids products are pastries that come frozen and are baked at home. Many of you have purchased them in the past as they are good treats to have around the house during the holiday season, as well as help the Falcon Band Booster Club make their budget! Please click the Kick-Off Video for an explanation of the Butter Braids fundraiser.
Please see the original Band Buzz email for the attached Letter to Parents document for information about this year’s Butter Braid fundraiser and a digital copy of this year’s Butter Braids paper order form (Document: 2022 ButterBraids Order Form.pdf). In addition, attached are the instructions on how to register students for their unique online store (Document: 2022 Butter Braids Online Ordering.pdf). If anyone has any questions regarding registering for the Butter Braids online store, please feel free to contact Sam Houston at 832-407-8375.
The paper order forms with the payment should be returned by Wednesday, November 16, 2022, and can be turned in to the booster box outside the band office or given to a band director. The Butter Braids online store will remain open through Wednesday, November 16, 2022.
Thanks so much!
