Letter From Ms. Brito
Dear Washington Families,
I hope everyone got some time to enjoy the beautiful fall weather this weekend! We are starting our fifth week of school, and digging deeper into teaching and learning in the classrooms. Thank you for all of your support in setting strong routines at home so students come to school ready to learn each day!
This Friday is our annual Walkathon fundraiser, sponsored by the Washington PTO. Students will receive their Walkathon teeshirts on Friday to wear at the event. Please note, parents are not allowed to walk or run the event with their child during the Walkathon. If you are interested in attending, we encourage you to get involved and volunteer. Please contact the PTO for more information on how you can help.
Thank you to our Washington community for the many ways they support our students and staff through their generous donations time and money. Funds raised from the Walkathon helps to pay for school assemblies, field trips and classroom teacher grants. We know these special opportunities would not be possible without your support.
Have a great week and we look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!
Warmly,
Angie
Spirit Week - September 9 - 13
Show your school spirit by dressing up for the spirit week days listed above! Spirit Week ends with our annual Walk-A-Thon and students will receive their Walk-A-Thon shirts at school that day!
End of Day Office Requests
Please be mindful to not make requests to the office for early dismissal, changes in transportation or after care, after 3:00 p.m. This is our busiest time of day for our staff, and they are not always able to communicate last minute schedule changes in time for dismissal. If you know your child will have an early dismissal or change to their transportation or after care, please alert the office as soon as possible, and include your child's teacher on any communication. Thank you for your support with this!
PTO Walkathon 2024!
The PTO is excited to announce this year's annual Washington Walk-a-thon is coming up on September 13, 2024. Your Walk-a-thon donation helps contribute to the PTO's overall financial support of our school, teachers, and students. As a non-profit, the PTO uses donations to contribute to field trips, classroom parties, school assemblies, and teacher grants. This year, each student can have their own individual donation page or you can donate to Walkathon without designating a specific student. You can find more information on the PTO's website here: Washington Elementary School PTO - Welcome! (washingtonpto.org)
Picture Day is September 23rd!
Picture day at Washington is Monday, September 23rd!
This year, parents can pre-pay online for picture orders. All orders will close on Monday, September 23rd at midnight. If you miss the opportunity to pre-order, parents will have the opportunity to order pictures with their child's ticket code. Please note, if you place an order using the ticket code after picture day, a shipping fee will apply. All orders placed after picture day will be shipped directly to the student's home. All orders placed on or before picture day will take approximately three weeks to process.
