Third Grade English Language Arts Ohio State Test-Oct 23rd & 24th
On Monday, October 23rd, and Tuesday, October 24th, all Tremont third graders will complete the Grade 3 English Language Arts Ohio State Test. Make up testing will occur October 25th-27th. Here are a couple of important items that will help prepare your child for test day.
Please make sure your child gets PLENTY of sleep on the days before testing and eats a hearty breakfast.
Students may bring mints only (no gum) to keep their brains alert during testing.
Please send a FULLY charged iPad on each testing day to help your child get a smooth start.
No phones, Gizmos, or Apple watches can be worn or powered on during testing. Please consider leaving them at home on testing days if possible, otherwise these items will be turned off and secured in the room and returned after testing.
Harvest Parade and Party Changes for 2023
We wanted to share some information about the upcoming Fall Harvest Parade + Parties! We are so excited to share that the Tremont Center businesses are partnering with us to host this celebration!
Please note the following changes.
All students will remain at Tremont for a regular school day. We expect that class times and other parts of our daily schedule will remain the same as a regular school day.
Students are permitted to wear their costumes all day or may change into them during the school day. Costumes should be school appropriate and not violent or too scary. Please be sure to send students with a costume that can go over clothing if they are not wearing it to school.
The event will take place on October 31st and students have two options:
Students can choose to participate in the Fall Harvest Parade and Party as indicated above.
Students can opt out of the parade and classroom parties and attend an event with Mrs. Allocco and other students who choose to opt-out. More detailed information can be found here.
Schedule of events:
10:45-12:30 Lunch/Recess/Duty Schedule stays the same
K-5th line up for the parade and be ready to walk at 1:20. See the route linked.
1:20 Kindergarten students start the parade to Tremont Center (weather permitting), 1st-5th to follow as indicated in the route
In case of inclement weather, this will be our rain plan.

Walk + Roll WEDNESDAYS-October 25th Is The Last Date!
Walk + Roll is a Tremont tradition promoting walking and biking safely to school. Every student that rides a bike, scoots or walks to school on Wednesdays (September 27th through October 25th) receives a hole punch in their passport (i.e. punch cards). For every hole punch TSA will donate $.05 to World Bicycle Relief.
After the fall session is over in October, students should turn in their punch cards! Students with completed cards will also be entered into a drawing to win extra recess for their class!
Any further questions, please contact Kristen Pastor at kcpastor@gmail.com.

Update: Thanksgiving Break Nutrition Support
Upper Arlington Schools is partnering with community members who have offered to provide nutritious breakfast, lunch and snack foods for Upper Arlington students during the five days when school will not be in session over Thanksgiving break (November 22 - 26). The food will be provided at no cost to district families experiencing food insecurity and would benefit from additional food.
Due to a recent increase in requests, the deadline to sign up has been extended. To sign up for this one-time program, families should complete this form by the end of the day on Tuesday, October 31st. Please include information about each child you would like to receive food. The school district will keep the information you provide in the form confidential.
After the registration window closes, you will receive an order number allowing you to pick up the food at a designated location in Upper Arlington on either Monday, November 20 or Tuesday, November 21. If you cannot come to one of the pickup locations, arrangements can be made to deliver the food.
Please contact Kristyn Anderson in the district office with questions about this one-time program at kmanderson@uaschools.org.
Field trip and other class event photos
We are grateful to the parent volunteers who make field trips and other special events during the school day possible for our students. The district does ask that volunteers and chaperones limit any photos taken during a school-day activity to photos of their own students. This will help us ensure we are following the wishes of all parents and guardians regarding the use of their student’s image. We thank you in advance for your understanding, cooperation and willingness to support our schools.
