CCSD Connections
A Monthly Parent Newsletter - May 2024
Superintendent's Message
Dear CCSD Family,
May springs much more than flowers: it's a time for our students to celebrate the end of a successful school year and for our graduates to celebrate the end of this chapter in their learning.
We know that you will be celebrating your children's success this season ... and so will we!
It's been such a pleasure to begin getting to know our exceptional teachers over the past two months. They not only are impressive professionals who bring a significant depth of knowledge to their work, they also are incredibly caring cheerleaders for our children.
May is National Teacher Appreciation Month, with the first full week of May and that Tuesday, which this year is May 7, additionally designated in their honor.
Join me in recognizing all that they do for our students and our community by encouraging your children to write a thank-you note to their teachers. As I taught high school, I didn't experience the crayon pictures and flowers my elementary teacher friends did, but how I treasure the heartfelt letters I received from my students.
On Wednesday, I emailed you a link to a brief survey to gain your valuable perspective on our strengths to nurture and opportunities for improvement. The survey is online at https://bit.ly/ccsd2024survey. All responses will be anonymous and the survey will be open until 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 8.
Thank you for a wonderful welcome to Cherokee County. I can't wait to celebrate all our successes this month as we wrap up this amazing school year!
Thank you,
Mary Elizabeth Davis
Superintendent of Schools
