College Reps are visiting NUHS!
Many college admission officers / representatives are on the road visiting high schools in the fall. Juniors and Seniors may meet with any college rep who visits NUHS. Students need to look at the schedule and sign up for the ones they want to meet with. We encourage students to check this list frequently as we will be adding more in the weeks to come.
Here is the link to the schedule and sign-up: https://sites.google.com/a/nu-district.org/nuhs-college-rep-visit-schedule/ This link is also posted below in the "resources" section of this newsletter.
For all Junior Parents.....
We will give the ACT on February 25, 2025 to juniors who want to take the test. This is now an optional test - in the past, it was required for all students. We need all junior parents to please fill out this form to let us know if your student is planning to take the test, or opt out of taking the test. Please only fill this form out if you are a parent of a current junior. Thank you!
College Credit Plus Information
We have a large number of CCP students this year! Communication is very important, especially if you are a student who is off campus or online. You will receive a flier with important dates in your scheduling packet. Please ask one of us if you have any questions!
Any student who is in a CCP class not taught by a NU teacher will be in a virtual class called "CCP Check-In". They will be expected to turn in their current grades every few weeks. Mrs. Amy Hundley, English teacher, will be facilitating CCP Check-In.
Testing Dates

Juniors will test in the spring. NU will register the juniors for testing. This in-school test event is separate from the national test dates and sign up process below. ACT is OPTIONAL, starting with the Class of 2026. Junior parents should see info posted above for details.

FAFSA
It appears that the FAFSA will not be open until December 1st for students to apply for aid for the 2025-26 school year. We will keep you updated on the situation. We usually schedule a workshop for parents, but are waiting on a final answer as to when the FAFSA will open.

Do you need a transcript? Are you using Common App?
Link to request a transcript: NUHS Transcript Request form Any senior who needs a transcript will use this form to request one. Please remember to mark whether or not you want your test scores to appear on your transcript. If you are filling out common app, you only need to do this once.
NOTE: if you are using Common App, the same transcript goes to every college on your list, so it will have to be one way or the other for every college.
