Hello Corvallis Community,

We had a few things going on for our students last week. Wednesday, Edendale Middle School theater students came to our school and put on a play for our 2nd-5th graders. They laughed so much! On Friday, San Leandro Library came and gave a presentation to all of our students on their summer reading program. It was exciting to see the students all fired up about reading. We ended the week by celebrating the end of testing with dancing and games.

Friday will be the staff kickball game against the fifth graders. Students picked up early after 2 pm will take much longer to get to the front.

Students are beginning to clean out their desks. They will be bringing home lots of items. We hope to have nothing left for the last day.

We need more PTA members! We've all enjoyed the events this year. In order for these events to keep happening we need new and more PTA members. Worried about your language skills? Not a problem, we will work that out. Our students tend to play together during the meetings, so feel free to bring them along. You can email corvalliselementarypta@gmail.com for more information.

Every school day is a day of learning for our students. It's important that students are in class on time and ready to learn. Our students line up at 8:33 and are in classrooms at 8:35.

Students entering the building from 8:35-8:45 will be greeted by our staff and given a tardy slip to take to class. After 8:45 students will report to the office to obtain a tardy slip.

If your child will not attend school on a particular day you may email cor.att@slzusd.org or call 510-317-4999. Please leave a voice mail. Our office checks it several times a day.

Many of our students suffer anxiety. As a parent, I know how helpless we can feel when our children are suffering. Here is an article that talks about some things parents can do at home. Please reach out to your child's teacher to discuss your concerns. We want to help you and your child work through the anxiety and enjoy school.
