Dear Evergreen Families,
Happy New Year! I hope your winter break was filled with warmth, relaxation, and special moments with loved ones. It’s so wonderful to have our hallways buzzing with the energy and excitement of our students once again. As we settle into the colder months, please ensure your child is bundled up and ready to enjoy outdoor play. We are excited to invite you to our upcoming PTO-sponsored BINGO nights—a delightful way to connect as a school community! Kindergarten through 2nd grade families are welcome on January 28, and 3rd through 5th grade families can join us on January 30. Families with siblings across grades may choose one or the other or both! Both events will run from 6:00 to 6:45 PM, and we can’t wait to see you there. As we near the end of the first semester, we are incredibly proud of the hard work and growth our students have shown so far. Together, let’s make 2025 a year of learning, laughter, and endless possibilities!
With Eagle pride,
Rick Koepke
Principal, Evergreen Elementary
New Visitor Management System – VisitorAware
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Our schools are implementing a new visitor management system called VisitorAware as part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring a safe and secure learning environment for all students and staff.
VisitorAware will help us efficiently monitor and manage all visitors entering our campuses. All visitors including parents and guardians, will be required to check in at the front office using a valid photo ID when they go beyond the front office during the school day. The system will quickly scan the ID and log the visitor's information, helping us keep an accurate record of everyone on campus.
How it works:
Visitors will take photos of their ID the first time they arrive at a building.
The system will register their visit. Visitors will receive a badge sticker or lanyard as they have in the past.
Upon leaving, visitors will check out through the system to ensure accurate records.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the front office at your child's school.
Thank you for your partnership in keeping our schools safe and welcoming for everyone.
Become a Big – Make a Difference!
Evergreen Elementary is proud to partner with the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, and we are looking for caring adults to become “Bigs” for our students. We have many children who are eager to spend a little time each week at school with a mentor who can provide guidance, encouragement, and a listening ear. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a lasting impact in a child’s life while also experiencing the joy of building a meaningful connection. If you’re interested in learning more about how you can become a Big, please visit HERE. Your time and kindness could make all the difference!
News from the PTO
As we kick off the new year, we're excited to share a lineup of fun events and activities that will bring our community together throughout the winter and spring months.
Join us for a delicious Dine Out Night at Polito's Pizza on January 18th from 4:00-8:00pm. Polito's is generously donating 15% of all sales that night to support our school. Dine-in or Carry-out both apply, so gather your family and let Polito's handle dinner!
Get ready for some friendly competition! Our family Bingo Nights are free to attend and will be held at Evergreen on Jan 28 (targeted towards grades K-2) and Jan 30 (targeted towards grades 3-5). Families are welcome to attend whichever night fits their schedule.
We are also busy planning a Family Fun event full of activities, games, and community bonding. More details are coming as we lock in a date and time this spring, but we promise it's an event you won't want to miss.
Our spring fundraiser is just around the corner! Back by popular demand, we will be selling Butter Braids to help support our school initiatives. Be on the lookout for more info on how to make February's sales a success.
And finally, Teacher Appreciation Week is coming up on May 6-10. It's a time to show our incredible educators and school staff just how much they mean to us. We'll be organizing a special week of gratitude to honor their hard work and dedication. Stay tuned for ways you can help celebrate and show your appreciation!
We are looking forward to a fantastic start to the year, and we hope you'll join us for these exciting events.
