This year we will be piloting a monthly newsletter from the school, featuring school events, updates on student life, and general information about JFDS.

Here are some of the dates to know for the Fall :
- Monday, September 16th - School Picture Day
- Tuesday, September 17th - Bulldog Boosters Meeting (5PM)
- Friday, October 4th - Progress Reports Mailed Home
- Friday, October 18th - Fun Night (6 to 8PM)
- Friday, November 1st - End of the First Quarter
Check out the JFDS Garden!
Students and staff members "dug in" and got the JFDS Garden off to a great start last year, with flowers, vegetables, & more. Interested in helping with the garden? Reach out to Mrs. Patterson at lpatterson@bangorschools.net.
The summer of 2024 was a busy one at JFDS. Here are a few building projects from the summer:
- The demolition and construction of the PCHC Health Clinic is nearly complete. PCHC staff is aiming for a start date in early October.
- The Art Room cabinets, which were originally installed in the 1990 rennovation of the school were replaced.
- The second phase of our hillside landscaping project is nearly complete. The final portion of the project will be completed next summer.
- The first phase of our Indoor Air Quality project wrapped up in late August. The project wil be completed next summer.
Athletics & Student Activities
Fall sports are underway. Football has already started their game schedule, and all of the other sports begin games & meets this week. Clubs and activities start this week as well. A late bus runs from JFDS at 4PM on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and most Thursdays, so everyone can stay after and join a club! Students should listen to the daily announcements to hear what is being offered.
AM music programs will start on Monday, September 16th.
