Attendance Reminder for Parents and Guardians
At Valley Tech, we value the importance of consistent attendance for student success. If your student is absent, please let us know by emailing attendance@valleytech.us as soon as possible. You can also use this email to notify us of a late arrival, early dismissal, or pre-arranged absence.
Physical notes must be submitted within three days of the absence to ensure it is excused. Timely communication helps us maintain accurate records and support your student’s education. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter!

Dressing for Success
At Valley Career & Technical Center, we expect students to dress professionally and behave in a civil and modest manner each day. Our dress code is designed to maintain a respectful and safe learning environment.
Students should avoid attire such as swimwear, halter tops, tank tops, sundresses, muscle shirts, bare midriffs, short-shorts, net tops, see-through shirts, sunglasses, and bare feet. Clothing or accessories that feature profane, racist, sexist, or offensive graphics or language or that promote violence, illegal products, or other inappropriate content will not be tolerated.
The VCTC administrative team reserves the right to determine if a student's dress or behavior is demeaning, disruptive, or otherwise unacceptable. Students may be asked to change into more appropriate attire or, if necessary, sent home to change, resulting in an unexcused absence.
We appreciate your support in helping our students dress for success!
Striking the Right Balance: The Role of Cell Phones in Our School
Cell phones can be a major distraction in the classroom in today's digital age. At Valley Tech, we encourage students to put their cell phones away during the school day to help them stay focused on their learning. By limiting phone use, students are better able to engage in lessons, participate in class activities, and interact with their peers without unnecessary interruptions.
Keeping phones away also promotes a respectful and productive learning environment, ensuring everyone can make the most of their time in school. Let's work together to help students stay focused and succeed!
Join a CTSO: HOSA, SkillsUSA and FFA at Valley Tech!
Valley Tech offers students the opportunity to join three amazing Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs): HOSA, SkillsUSA, and FFA. These organizations provide leadership, skill-building, and competition opportunities but focus on different career pathways.
HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) is for students interested in pursuing careers in healthcare. Members participate in events related to health science, medical knowledge, and leadership in the healthcare industry. The deadline to join HOSA is November 1st, and the dues are $30.
SkillsUSA is designed for students pursuing technical, trade, and skilled service occupations. It focuses on improving leadership, teamwork, and practical job skills in fields like welding, automotive technology, cosmetology, and more. The deadline to join SkillsUSA is January 15th, and the dues are also $30.
The VCTC FFA Chapter offers membership to all students, whether they're already part of their home school's FFA chapter or not. Students at their home school are automatically considered local members of VCTC. For those not yet affiliated, VCTC provides the opportunity to join for just $12, with rolling membership available throughout the year. Being part of FFA opens doors to leadership, career development, and hands-on agricultural experiences!
All of these organizations offer valuable experiences that will help prepare students for their future careers, so don’t miss out on the chance to join.
