MISSION, VISION AND VALUES
Our BPS Mission: "Empower every learner to thrive."
Our BPS Vision: "Together, our strong relationships build inclusive, collaborative, and innovative environments that create agency and inspire a passion for learning, excellence, and discovery."
Our BPS Values: Inclusion, Excellence, Innovation and LeadershipMessage from Dr. Herman
Crossing a busy street without using a crosswalk can be dangerous and is generally not recommended, especially for children. Crosswalks are designed with safety in mind, providing designated areas for pedestrians to cross where drivers are more likely to expect them. Crossing outside of a crosswalk may catch drivers off guard, increasing the risk of accidents. To ensure safety, it's essential to for us to remind our students the importance of using crosswalks, obeying traffic signals, and looking both ways before crossing the street. Additionally, it is important for parents to lead by example and always prioritize using crosswalks to set a safe and responsible precedent for their children. During dismissal, 12th Street is extremely busy. There are buses and a lot of cars blocking our view. Please consider other options rather than crossing 12th street during dismissal, so we can ensure the safety of ALL of you!
Bismarck Public Schools Foundation Student of the Week for October 28th is from Myhre Elementary!
Mr. Molenda nominated Alfie R. for the Student of the Week feature! “Alfie is a hardworking individual, who sets a positive example for all he encounters. He’s an outstanding student and goes above and beyond with everything he does. I’m proud of Alfie and know he will be successful in life.” Congratulations, Alfie!

Grateful for our 5th Grade Donations
We are incredibly grateful to our donors for their generosity in supporting our 5th-grade basketball team. Thanks to their contributions, every 5th grader now has a new pair of basketball shoes, setting them up for success on the court. To make it even better, an additional donor provided brand new basketballs, adding to the excitement and enthusiasm for our young athletes.
This amazing support not only helps our students but also inspires them to work hard, play as a team, and develop a lifelong love for sports. A special thanks as well to our dedicated 5th-grade basketball coach, Mr. Molenda, for his commitment to helping our students grow both on and off the court. We are lucky to have such a caring community!
Dress for the Weather!
As the weather turns colder, we want to emphasize the importance of dressing your child appropriately to keep them comfortable and safe. Cold temperatures can be challenging for young ones, but with the right clothing, we can ensure they stay warm and healthy during the winter months. Please remember jackets, gloves, hats, snow pants, and boots for your child.

12th Street
- Children and parents need to use the crosswalks when crossing the street. 12th Street is very busy and should not be used for crossing without a crosswalk.
- The Bus Lane on 12th street is for the buses. If you are in the Bus Lane, please move quickly. “Drop and Go” is a good policy. All cars parked in the bus lane (yellow curb) will be asked to move.
