We are thrilled to welcome the award-winning Beijing Youth Performance Troupe from Beijing Normal University to Newton! This evening's gala will showcase a vibrant fusion of folk dances from the Han, Dai, and Mongolian ethnic groups, alongside the captivating sounds of five traditional Chinese instruments: the flute, erhu, pipa, dulcimer, and guzheng. One of the highlights of the evening is a piece that beautifully captures the serene life of Jiangnan water towns, evoking the misty rain and peaceful homes of the region. This performance has garnered acclaim at prestigious venues such as the Shanghai APEC Summit and the Élysée Palace in France. Additionally, the audience will enjoy a special collaboration between these talented artists and students from Newton North and Newton South high schools.
