Dear Seaside Families,

We have a lot of talent at Seaside Elementary and I would like to congratulate our fourth graders from our Seaside Chorus who sang at the Horry County Schools Waves of the Future last weekend. Our students had a great performance and I am so proud of their hard work. Thank you to Ms. Baut who does a wonderful job as our music teacher. I would like to thank our PTO for being able to purchase a book ($10 value) for every student in our building during our Book Fair. We are so thankful for their generosity towards each of our students. They truly put our students first and we are thankful for their dedication to Seaside Elementary. This upcoming week we have our PTO Family Picnic during lunch time. We hope to see our families come and enjoy this time with their student(s). Please pay close attention to the flier that we have sent home, posted on Facebook, and on this Newsletter. The flier will give you specific days and times for each grade level and guidelines for the picnic. Lastly, we are participating in the Stella's Ice Cream Wars vs. other schools within Horry County. Our students, faculty members, family members, and community members voted and the winning ice cream flavor is called Stingray Swirl. Stingray Swirl is vanilla ice cream with a mix of sea salt, caramel, and dark chocolate chunks. I cannot wait to try it and hopefully we will win the Stella's Ice Cream Wars with the best flavor! Visit Stella's Ice Cream starting April 22 through May 5! Enjoy this beautiful weekend and we can't wait to see everyone back at school on Monday, April 22, 2024.

This will be like a performance, but it will be interactive where students will lead families through musical games and activities learned in class.

*You will be able to gain access to the rock at 4pm the day before your rental date.

Dear Seaside Parents and Guardians,

As of Monday, April 15, 2024, library books will no longer be available to check out to students with outstanding fines and/or lost books. We currently have approximately 400 books that are overdue, lost, or damaged.

After 90 days from the checkout date, overdue library books automatically turn into “lost” books and a fine is applied to the student’s account.

Should fines be satisfied, or overdue/lost books be returned, book checkout can resume until Friday, May 17, 2024.

Payments can be made by check (made out to Seaside Elementary), cash (exact amount only - no change can be given), or on www.MyPaymentsPlus.com.

There will not be visitors during lunch times during our SC Ready Testing dates. The following dates below we will not be having anyone visit for lunch for any grade level. Thank you for your understanding.

May 16- Grades 3 and 4 Math SC Ready State Testing

May 21- 4th Grade Science SC Ready State Testing

Parents we have so many items in our Lost and Found! If your child is missing something most likely it is in our Lost and Found. You are more than welcome to come up to the school to check everything out. As a parent myself I know and understand how expensive clothing can be. We are trying to make sure that any lost items are returned to our families. Please check out the pictures and see how much we have. We have so many items it is getting where we can no longer keep everything. Any unclaimed items will be donated at the end of April. Thank you!

Please reach out to Nurse Hopkins if your child has any medical issues that the school may need to know (severe allergies, asthma, diabetes, seizures, etc.) If you need to reach her please call the school at 843-650-3490 or by email at MHopkins002@horrycountyschools.net. It is imperative that we know about any medical issues so that we are able to keep your child safe at all times.Please make sure that your child's shot records are up to date.
