Silverhawk Families,

Happy May! As this year comes to a close I would like to thank all of our families for helping to support our students throughout this school year. It truly takes a village to help our students grow academically and socially in the right direction, and I truly appreciate the support you have given to my staff and I.

I am excited to announce that we will be having a second Kindergarten teacher, which will help our campus start off on the right foot of growth that we have been striving for the past 3 years. With your help we will continue to grow and have 2-3 teachers in each grade level moving forward (fingers crossed).

My teachers and I are already planning for next school year to improve on our processes and communication. Improving communication will be one of my main goals, among many others, with families and staff.

Fourth Quarter Awards Assembly Wednesday, May 21st @9:00 in the gym. Your child's teacher will reach out to you to let you know if your child will be receiving an award for the 4th Quarter.

We are nearly finished with our first year of Preschool at the Traditional Academy at Bellair, and we could not have asked for a better first year experience. Our students and families have grown, just as we have as teachers. We are so proud of our accomplishments this year, and have enjoyed being a part of growing our Bellair community. We will miss those who are moving on to kindergarten, new schools, and new endeavors. But we are also looking forward to another successful year to come where we can make new friends and share in some new adventures and studies! We are already making plans for the upcoming year to keep our returning students engaged, and get our new students excited for learning. We want to thank our families for joining us this year and lending us the support it takes to make this program successful. Bellair Silverhawks!

All Things E.Q. Program for all students - A social-emotional program that transforms school culture and prepares students to “show up” positively for themselves and one another to achieve academic success and social-emotional well-being. The Fourth Quarter we will be working on the following:

• Week of April 14th - Tough times happen, but I'm tougher.

• Week of May 5th - I seek solutions.
• Week of May 12th - I am someone people can count on.
• Week of May 19th - I learn more by truly listening to others.

During our Early Release/PD Dates teachers will be reviewing student data and collaboratively working together to plan how to best support students throughout the school year.

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based, tiered framework for supporting students’ behavioral, academic, social, emotional, and mental health. When implemented with fidelity, PBIS improves social emotional competence, academic success, and school climate. It also improves teacher health and wellbeing. It is a way to create positive, predictable, equitable and safe learning environments where everyone thrives. We use ‘students’ to refer to all children and youth in any educational or therapeutic setting (e.g., K-12 school, early childhood program, treatment program, juvenile justice program). Our new PBIS Acronym is S.O.A.R. Silverhawks show Safety, Ownership, Achievement and Respect. Please help us to instill these behaviors at home, so we can all "S.O.A.R. to #Extraordinary Heights Together!"
