On Monday, April 28, Lake Forest Community High School staff became aware of alleged violations of Board Policy 5:50 Drug- and Alcohol-Free Workplace; E-Cigarette, Tobacco, and Cannabis Prohibition, by Jennifer R. Christensen, a former Student Services intern. The internship took place from August 21, 2023, to June 21, 2024.
A current student disclosed this information to a clinician, who immediately referred it to LFHS administration and contacted the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). The administration reached out to the LFHS School Resource Officer, Detective Mark Long of the Lake Forest Police Department, who immediately launched an investigation into the allegations. Today, June 19, the former intern was charged with a misdemeanor of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.
The student who reported the information was immediately offered supportive measures by LFHS.
