Regular attendance is vital for our children’s learning and growth. We encourage you to ensure that your child attends school consistently, as every day counts in their educational journey. Regular attendance is crucial as it helps students build a strong foundation for their education. It fosters social skills, enhances academic performance, and promotes a sense of belonging within the school community.
Additionally, we urge all families to participate in the upcoming April 1st election. Your voice matters, and voting is a powerful way to influence our community and support our children's future. GET OUT AND VOTE on APRIL 1!
Thank you for your continued support and commitment to our school and community. We hope you have a wonderful spring break!
Best regards,
Mrs. Malott, Principal
Mr. Klett, Assistant Principal
END OF DAY PICK-UP!
WE KINDLY ASK PARENTS/ GUARDIANS TO WAIT UNTIL 3:00 DISMISSAL TO PICK UP STUDENTS AT THEIR ASSIGNED PICK-UP LOCATIONS. IF YOUR STUDENT HAS A PREARRANGED APPOINTMENT OR AN ALTERNATE PICK-UP PLAN, PLEASE SEND A NOTE OR CALL THE OFFICE PRIOR TO 2:00.
THANK YOU.
Safety Reminder: No Stopping or Parking in the Bus Lane on Townline Avenue
For the safety of our students, staff, and community, we remind all drivers that stopping or parking in the bus lane on Townline Avenue is strictly prohibited. This is especially hazardous when vehicles enter the bus zone going the wrong way. Such actions have already resulted in a fender bender, several near-miss accidents, and verbal altercations among drivers.
These incidents not only compromise safety but also send a negative message to our students and create an unfavorable impression in the Converse neighborhood. We kindly ask all drivers to practice patience, follow traffic rules, and respect the designated zones to ensure the well-being of everyone.
Please note that cars parked illegally or those failing to adhere to school zone speed limits may be subject to ticketing. Let’s work together to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for our community.
Thank you for your cooperation!
IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
- We ask for your child to remain at school for a full day, unless there is a medical appointment or an emergency. Learning happens all day! If you know your child has an appointment that they will need to be picked up for, please let the office know in advance, so we can have your child ready for you. Additionally, please get a Dr. note from the appointment to excuse the absence.
- When calling your child in sick, please state their symptoms as this is tracked by the health office.
- School dismisses daily at 3:00- please refrain from picking your student up early. Students must be present for the entire day.
- Students may be excused up to 10 days from school. Report your student's absences at 608-361-2100. Please leave a detailed message.
- The school day starts at 7:45. Students must be in the building and ready to begin their day at 7:45 or they are considered tardy.
- Please be sure your child has an extra change of clothes to keep at school.

The Importance of Reading at Home: NIGHTLY READING HOMEWORK
Reading is one of the most important skills your child will learn. When children read at home, it helps them become better readers and learners. ALLConverse students in 5k - 5th grade have 30 minutes of nightly reading homework to do. This could be a storybook, a magazine, or anything they enjoy! The more they read, the more they grow.Students can read independently, be read to by a sibling or trusted adult, or read aloud to someone. If you have questions about the nightly 30 minute reading homework, please reach out to your child's teacher.
Every Day Counts. Attendance Matters!
When they come to school consistently, they can take part in all classroom activities, connect with their teachers and friends, and keep up with their lessons. This active participation plays a big role in their academic growth and helps them achieve their best.
