2017-18 3rd Quarter - Edition 4
Welcome to the 2nd Half of the School Year!
Do You Know Your Child's Learning Style?
January is College and Career Month!
Student of the Month Focus
Our Student of the Month awards focus on three qualities - Academic Excellence, Outstanding Effort, and a Leadership focus in the area of our monthly PRIDE theme. Teachers and staff will be looking for students who portray excellence in one of these areas. Students of the Month will be recognised during PRIDE time. The 3rd Quarter Leadership expectations are as follows:
January
Pride Expectation: Positive
Positive is defined as a good, or useful quality or feature; to show acceptance or approval. For example, being positive means to believe in the good qualities of someone or something or to be hopeful or optimistic.
Theme: The focus this month is Starting the Year Positively. It's a new semester and a new year. Start with a clean slate and set positive goals for yourself. Identify a short-term goal that will help you start the year positively!
February
Pride Expectation: Respectful
Respectful means to show high regard or courtesy.
Theme: This month's focus is Building a Caring Community. A student may help build a caring community in our school as well as our local community by actively supporting and participating in activities within the school and local community. Students may show their involvement in their school community by participating in programs such as the Peer Tutoring Program or Pride Stars Program.
March
Pride Expectation: Integrity
Integrity means total honesty and sincerity; to adhere to a moral and ethical code.
Theme: This month's focus is about Having Integrity Online. Having integrity online includes both academic and social integrity. Students should continue to evaluate their digital footprint and online presence as first begun following the February I Can Help Assembly.
