No School Monday, 2/17- Presidents Day
It's Backpack Clean Out TIme!
In enhancement during 6th period this Wednesday, teachers will host a backpack cleanout event. This is to ensure we reduce backpack weight and get rid of unnecessary items from Semester 1 (old workbooks, completed and graded assignments, old library books, etc.)
Seeking 8th Grade Parents to Chaperone High School Tours
Interested in chaperoning a small group of 8th graders as we visit BGHS? Please let Chris Jones (Jones.Chris@battlegroundps.org) know, and be sure you are cleared as a volunteer through the district screening process. Click here for more information.
8th Grade Corner
It's Time! High School planning is around the corner!
Stayed tuned 8th graders and families! Here is what is around the bend:
- Monday, 3/4: Pre Forecasting Lessons in Science Classes (students will learn about course offerings and requirements, select classes they plan to take, and generate questions for 9th grade tours.
- Monday, 3/11: 8th Graders who live in the Prairie boundary, or have submitted a boundary request form to attend PHS will be bussed to PHS for tours, an elective fair, and lunch.
- Tuesday, 3/12: 8th Graders will be bussed to BGHS for tours, an elective fair, and lunch.
- Tuesday, 3/12, PHS Future Falcon Night, 5:30-7:30pm at Prairie.
- Thursday, 3/14: BGHS Freshman Night, 5-7pm at the high school
- Tuesday, 3/19: 8th Graders will enter their course selections in Skyward (this is called Forecasting).
- Thursday , 3/21: BGHS counselors will be on site to answer Forecasting questions during 6th period.
- Friday 3/22: Forecasting closes (all changes final in Skyward)
Keep your eyes on your email this month for permission slips for the BGHS Tours. If you are planning to send your child to a different school, watch for a survey where you can indicate such. We will send PHS information to those who request it via this survey.
Want to Nominate A TVM Staff Member?
The Employee Recognition Awards highlight staff members who reflect the district’s strategic plan goals. These individuals from all roles represent their school/department and themselves in a positive manner. Two to five nominees are selected each month between October and May and recognized at a board meeting. Please complete the following form to submit a nomination. Everyone is welcome to nominate staff members. The following criteria will be used to select award recipients:
- Commitment to the district’s mission to support each and every student
- Contribution to a safe and caring environment for staff and students
- Support for the need for high-quality instruction in every classroom
- Collaboration with others in a way that demonstrates trust and respect
February Lunch Menu
Capital Levy coming in February
Proposition no. 7 will appear on the ballot for the special election on Feb. 13, 2024. If approved by local voters, the three-year capital levy would provide funds to repair or update roofs and heating/cooling systems, update security measures, expand career and technical education opportunities and replace outdated technology. All schools in the district would receive updates. Read more about the capital levy.
