The Survey was sent to you in an email Monday Morning. Please note the survey will close on Friday, March 17. The results will be presented at the next School Council Meeting on March 22.

If you're having any difficulties logging in, please let the office know and we can tally responses confidentially on your behalf.

Attendance Boundary Review

The Board of Trustees will meet with families to receive feedback on existing attendance boundaries, which were put in place at the time the school division was formed in 1995.

Four public meetings will take place. All four meetings will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Monday, March 20: Ryley School

Tuesday, March 21: New Norway School - This meeting is the closest to our school.

Monday, April 3: Ecole Camrose Composite High School

Tuesday, April 4: Killam Public School

We encourage you to take time to attend one of these meetings.

If your child has signed up to attend the Grade 7-9 Field Trip to the Citadel Theatre, payments are due immediately. Ticket confirmation is being completed this week, and will be dependent on the number of payments actually received. Click HERE or the picture to make your payment.

Sr High ski trip is April 11-13 to Sunshine Village. There is keen interest from students, and, to keep fees affordable, students are initiating a bottle drive campaign. Please let Mrs. Pearson know if you are interested in supporting this with your recycle and empties. You can contact the school or email her directly at lpearson@brsd.ab.ca.

You can attend in person, and a link will be sent out closer to the date to attend online. As a parent, these meetings are a great way to hear directly from our administrators and School Council. It provides you an opportunity to also give feedback.

Also - did you know - if you ever have any questions or concerns, both of our administrators are more than happy to schedule a time to meet with you. Please, never hesitate to reach out and call the school to arrange a time with Krysta Rathwell (Principal) and Shawna Johnson (Assistant Principal).

My name is Connie Brooks. I am a retired School Social Worker and have a Bachelor of Professional Arts in Human Services degree. I have been working for fifteen hours each week for the past fourteen months, tutoring students in both Alix and Bashaw. Much of the time is spent assisting students in these schools, but I also tutor students after school hours.

This position was created by the Bashaw Regional Wellness Initiative and funded by the Government of Canada to assist students who need additional time due to Covid and other waves of illness hitting schools and families during the past three years. I enjoy working with the wonderful students in both schools and am looking forward to continuing to the end of the school year.

Hello BRSD families!

Students from across the world want to join us in Battle River School Division. Are you able to help welcome them?

We are seeking caring families to host students in their home during the 2023-2024 school year. International Student placements can range from one month to the full school year in duration, so you can choose an option that works for your family.

Right now, we have students who will be joining us from Germany, Belgium, Spain and other European countries, as well as from Asia and South America. Hosting an International Student can change their life for the better and will give your family the chance to learn more about other cultures and countries as well. Lifelong connections and friendships can be made.

There is a $700 per month stipend provided to help offset costs.
