A Message from Ms. Peterson
Hello MCP3 Families!
Our Elephants and Gators had a really fun time attending their first field trip last week to We Rock the Spectrum! Thank you parents who chaperoned and supported our scholars in having fun!
Today our school conducted a Code Red Drill and our scholars did an excellent job of practicing being safe. Scholars followed the Code Red procedure quickly, quietly, and waiting patiently for the drill to be completed. Huge shout out to the MCP3 staff for ensuring the safety of our scholars. I am so proud of our team and of our scholars!
Here are a few important reminders and updates for the next couple of weeks:
Child Health Reports
Child Health Reports went home yesterday with all scholars. These reports must be signed by a physician and returned to your scholar's teacher ASAP. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Theme 2: My Family and Friends
Week 4: My Community
As children begin to explore relationships beyond their family, they expand their awareness into the community. A community is a group of people who live, work or play close to one another. The people in the community that children relate to first are neighbors and community workers. This week, children will explore the people in their community who keep them safe and healthy (doctor, firefighter, mail carrier, nurse, police officer, etc.).
Vocabulary Words this week:
community, gratitude, neighbor
Read Aloud Books:
Community Helpers
Better Things to Do
Math Concepts:
Attributes: classification (putting items in groups when they all have something that is the same about them)
STEAM: Road Construction
Scholars will learn about various roadways such as roads, bridges, tunnels, and overpasses. They will be challenged to use building materials to create various roadways and test the functionality of their roadway with a small toy car.
