SKECHERS WALK on OCTOBER 20th
Dear Anza Families,
Weโre excited to announce that our school will be participating in the 2024 SKECHERS Pier to Pier
Friendship Walk, either in-person or virtually, alongside the Torrance Education Foundation.
Join us by registering as a member of our team to help raise essential funds for our school! When you sign up, be sure to select and choose the Torrance Education Foundation as your contribution recipient and ANZA ELEMENTARY.
The walk will take place on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at 9:30 A.M. PST, with a live-streamed presentation. Best of all, 100% of your $30 registration fee will go directly to our school and contribute to the Torrance Education Foundation's eligibility for a grant from the SKECHERS Foundation. Thereโs an extra incentive!
If our school reaches 100 walkers, we will receive a $500 bonus from the Torrance Education Foundation. Also, Mrs. Di Vincenzo and some staff members will have a tricycle race at a flag assembly if we reach a 100 walkers!
If we reach 150 walkers, we will receive an additional $1,000 bonus! We will also have a whole school Pajama Day if we reach 150 walkers! Sign up as a walker or virtual walker and invite your family and friends to join too. Everyone can participate to support our school!
Register today at: Anza Eagles Skechers Walk Registration Link
PLEASE register as a WALKER to be counted amongst Anza's walkers and also so the money comes directly to Anza.
If we reach 250 walkers, we will have a whole school extra fun recess with bubbles, chalk, music and other fun stuff!
If we reach 500 walkers, the whole school will have a movie and popcorn party! Let's do this Anza Eagles!

Counselor's Corner - ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
October is Bullying Awareness and Prevention month.
We wear orange for Unity Day on Wednesday October 16th to remind us of all of the ways we are more alike than different. Students learn about different types of bullying, its effects on all those involved, and what they can do about it as well as what they can expect be done when it is reported. Students share how they are feeling about their school, teachers and other students by taking the climate survey which helps the school community learn areas where we are excelling as well as those areas we can improve.
Students learn how to โStop, Walk, and Talkโ in response to hurtful or unfair actions by others. When we 'Start With Hello', we get to know each other and learn that it is always the right time to be kind.
Thank you,
Gloria Gutierrez, MA, PPS

Metro GO Pass
REMINDER! Metro Go Passes are now available for all students!
Our Board of Education voted to extend the free Metro GoPass program for a second year, and we are proud to offer this benefit all our students. The program includes a Metro TAP (Transit Access Pass) card that offers FREE unlimited rides on Los Angeles Metropolitan Transit Authority (Metro) bus rail and subway lines, including Torrance Transit, Long Beach Transit, Culver CityBus, Gardena Transit (GTrans) and LADOT Dash.
If you have a TAP card from last year, you will need a new code, which you can pick up from our school office. We also have a stock of TAP cards for new riders or those who lost their old cards. New cards will need to be activated before being used. For more information, visit https://www.tusd.org/administrative-services/metro-gopass.
