Imagine-Chancellor Chargers
September 2024 Newsletter
Every Charger. Every Day. Whatever it Takes.
Dear Imagine-Chancellor Families,
I hope this message finds you well and that your family is settling into the new school year with excitement and enthusiasm. I’m thrilled to share that we’ve had a fantastic start to the year! The energy in our classrooms and hallways is truly inspiring, as our students and staff have come together to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
At our school, we are committed to not just academic excellence but also to fostering the character development of our students. This year, we are deeply embedding our core values of Always Being A Charger: Caring, Honest, Accountable, Respectful, Grateful, Empathetic, and Responsible. These values guide everything we do and help shape our students into well-rounded individuals who are ready to contribute positively to their communities.
In the month of September, we are placing a special focus on character strengths within our classrooms. Our teachers are integrating lessons on teamwork, leadership, and an other people mindset—encouraging students to be present, attentive, and supportive of one another. We are also nurturing a love of learning, helping students to discover the joy and fulfillment that comes from acquiring new knowledge and skills.
We believe that by reinforcing these character strengths and core values, we are preparing our students not just for success in school, but for success in life. I encourage you to talk with your child about these values and how they can be applied both at school and at home.
Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership in making this school year a great one. Together, we will continue to build a community where every student feels valued, respected, and empowered to achieve their best.
With much love and appreciation,
Ms. Standley
Principal
Imagine-Chancellor will implement "Start with Hello" Spirit Week (Sept 16th-20th). Start with Hello is an initiative through the Sandy Hook Promise to teach empathy and empower students to end social isolation.
Sandy Hook Promise is a national nonprofit organization founded and led by several family members whose loved ones lost their lives at Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14, 2012. Based in Newtown, Connecticut, our intent is to honor all victims of gun violence by turning our tragedy into a moment of transformation. By empowering youth to “know the signs” and uniting all people who value the protection of children, we can take meaningful actions in schools, homes, and communities to prevent gun violence and stop the tragic loss of life
Why Start With Hello?
Loneliness is the overwhelming feeling of being left out and social isolation is not having frequent interactions with friends. Young people who feel this way may pull away from society, struggle with learning and social development, or choose to hurt themselves or others. Start with Hello is an important social and emotional learning program to reintroduce students to the power of connecting and helping one another.
Imagine-Chancellor will be celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 to October 15) to recognize the achievements and contributions of Hispanic American champions who have inspired others to achieve success.
Students will be provided opportunities to foster cultural appreciation and diversity among our students and families.
