Davenport's Weekly Update

Greetings Families!

The first week of school was great! We kicked off the school year with Kindergarten Orientation and student assemblies where we discussed our school district's S.O.A.R. program. As we walked throughout the building and into the lunchrooms, we were excited to hear students laugher and chatter as they met old and new friends. When asked what their favorite part of the week was, students answers varied including, meeting new friends, going to lunch, playing at recess, learning about SOAR, etc.

Our students participated with great energy as we introduced our core values of SOARing at Davenport. Students are familiarizing themselves with routines, expectations, and learning how to SOAR "In Our Davenport Era".

Our staff have EMBRACED the students to start the 24-25 school year and we are looking forward to EDUCATING our families on September 11th at Back to School Night to show what Davenport has to offer. We are prepared to SOAR into the new school year!

Davenport students were busy learning to SOAR into their new school year.

Everyone had an awesome day here at Davenport as students arrived for their first day back-to-school on Thursday, September 5th.

EHT's first official Professional Development Day for the 2024-2025 school year started off at the High School for all staff on Tuesday, September 9th with tons of enthusiasm and team-building!

Principal White proudly displays the Spirit Stick after Davenport was pronounced the winner at our Staff Pep Rally!

Our local VFW & VFW Auxiliaries #8098 have been supporting our staff and students for close to a decade now. Deborah Beall (left) , daughter of Bill Beall who started this annual tradition, and Ellen Rush (right) personally delivered an amazing assortment of classroom supplies for our Davenport students this past week. Thank you to all of those VFW & VFW Auxiliary members who contributed their time, money and muscle!

Many thanks to Pastor Brendon and his congregation for our surprise goodie bags that they assembled for all of our staff members this year. Each one even included a personal, hand-written "Good Luck" message!
