Message from Administration Team
Dear Families,
As we approach the end of the first marking period, there are a few key dates and events we want to ensure are on your calendar:
Parent-Teacher Conferences: If you would like to discuss your child’s progress, please remember that parent-teacher conferences will be held on November 19. In addition to in person conferences, a virtual conference will be utilized by teachers to accommodate the needs of all families.
Thanksgiving Break: School will be closed Wednesday, November 27, Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29 for the Thanksgiving holiday. We wish you and your family a safe and happy holiday!
On November 7th, our students had the incredible opportunity to engage with local veterans who visited our school to share their personal stories and experiences. The visit was an inspiring and educational experience, as the veterans spoke about their time in the military, the values of service, and the importance of perseverance, teamwork, and sacrifice.
Our students were able to ask thoughtful questions, listen to firsthand accounts of history, and gain a deeper appreciation for the contributions of those who have served our country. The visit was a powerful reminder of the impact that veterans have on our lives and the freedoms we enjoy today.
We are grateful to the veterans who took the time to join us and share their experiences with our school community.
Parent Teacher Conferences
Monday, November 19th from 6-8PM
To make the most out of the meeting, here are some key questions your might consider asking:
1. About Academic Progress
- How is my child performing in relation to grade-level expectations?
- Are there any specific strengths or areas of improvement you’ve noticed in my child’s academic work?
- Is my child meeting, exceeding, or struggling with the core learning objectives in each subject?
2. About Behavior and Engagement
- How does my child participate in class (e.g., asking questions, engaging with peers, contributing to discussions)?
- Is my child attentive, organized, and completing assignments on time?
- Are there any behavioral concerns or social dynamics (e.g., peer relationships, group work) that we should address?
3. About Social and Emotional Development
- How does my child interact with their classmates? Do they have strong friendships?
- How does my child handle conflicts with peers or teachers?
- Are there any social skills or emotional coping strategies that we should work on at home?
4. About Support and Resources
- Are there any resources or programs available at school (e.g., tutoring, counseling, or enrichment activities) that could benefit my child?
- Are there any strategies or tools you recommend for helping my child with homework or studying?
5. About Communication and Collaboration
- How can we work together to support my child’s learning at home and at school?
- Are there ways we can stay more connected throughout the year regarding my child’s progress (e.g., through regular updates or check-ins)?
- If my child is struggling in any way, what specific actions can we take at home to help them improve?
6. About Goals and Next Steps
- What are the key areas of focus for my child moving forward in the next marking period?
