On Wednesday, our 8th graders had the opportunity to tour NVIA, Martinrea, and GT to learn about the career opportunities in manufacturing. Students also had the opportunity to tour the new manufacturing and culinary arts facilities at JCHS. Thanks to the Jennings County Economic Development Center for putting on this annual trip for our students!

Teachers at JCMS work hard to integrate STEM into their daily lessons. Here are a couple of examples of how we are doing so:

• 8th grade Science students were tasked with utilizing the engineering design process to try and develop a new, amazing formula for toothpaste! Once developed students presented their findings to their class.
• Students in the Engineering and Technology classes have been reseraching different options of energy production by building solar cars! Students had the opportunity to compete and see whose design worked the best.

Many students often want to know ahead of time what is served for lunch each day. Here is the upcoming October Lunch Menu. We appreciate all of the time and effort our lunch crew puts into making our lunches each day. Thank you to all of them!

Students who did not have their picture taken or who would like retakes will have their pictures taken on Thursday, November 7th.

Advanced Art participated in North Vernon Main Street's Annual Lamp Post and Window decorating contest! Thank you to Mrs. Furgason for coordinating this opportunity for our students!

EXCITING NEWS!!

Join us for the first annual JCMS Holiday Volleyball Tournament! This tournament serves as a fundraiser for the upcoming season. The money collected will allow us to buy things such as new balls, ball bags, etc.

We would love to get enough teams signed up to have 2 different brackets: an intermediate and an advanced.
