MES Soaring to Success
Principal weekly update
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
The TAG program starts afterschool today and Drama club starts afterschool on Tuesday. There are some students who are signed up for more than one activity on Tuesdays. If one of those activities is Drama and you have not been in touch with me yet, please email me to let me know you would like your child to participate in both activities and we will try to work out a schedule. Please do so by tomorrow so I have time during the day to work it out. Thanks.
We are having some trouble during morning drop off and it could become a very dangerous situation. Please do not pass any other cars in the line as students are getting out and it can easily become a dangerous situation.
A gentle reminder about cell phones and smart watches - Both cell phones and smart watches are not allowed during the school days. If your child needs to communicate with you or you with them, please call the main office. If your child needs to call home, they can come to the office and ask Mrs. Winter. If a child is found using a smart watch or cell phone during the day, it will be taken and you will be contacted. The first time, I will give it back at the end of the day but the second time, you will have to come pick it up in the office. If your child continues to use their smart watch/cell phone during the school day, other disciplinary actions may be taken. Please review these expectations again with your child if they are bringing a cell phone or smart watch to school, and remind them that they are not to use the smart watch/cell phone during the school day. Thank you for your help with this!
The Afterschool Academy will not be in session on Thursday Oct 31st so students can enjoy the night! Students will go home on a regular dismissal plan. Should you need to change that please email the office.
Once again we will be celebrating the Fall with a Book Bash on October 31st! Students and staff are encouraged to come to school dressed as their favorite book characters! See below for flyer!
Linked below is our district Arts Magazine as well as more information on the Book Bash and Trick or Treat street.
In the upcoming weeks MES and WMS will be practicing an off site evacuation drill. Both schools will notify parents when the drill has been completed.

A Note from Mrs. Winter
If you need to make a change to your child's dismissal, please remember to get those changes in BEFORE 12:00 so we have time to communicate the information to the teacher.

A Note from the School Nurse
As a reminder, please keep in mind sensibly size water bottles. The giant ones pose issues when spilled. We have water filling stations.
For gym and recess don't forget no flip flops.
