Library News
It's hard to believe we're already winding down to the end of the year. Student's last day to check out new books is Tuesday, May 7th. The rest of the year will be dedicated to bringing books back. I will send out overdue notices next week. Please look for this slip of paper and check with your child about their books. Any books that are not returned by the end of the year will be charged onto your child's infinite campus account. Please reach out to me at hoare@gjps.org if you have questions or concerns. Thank you and please look for summer reading opportunities in a future newsletter!
Spring Mulching- Family Event???
We had no families sign up to help and still have 90 bags of mulch to spread. We understand Saturday mornings in the spring are busy. Please email Mr. Schmidt with recommendations for when would be a good time to organize this event. -Thanks
Hallway Prep Crew???
Exciting news: Jefferson's hallways will receive a fresh coat of paint this summer, but we need your help preparing the walls. Over the years, hot glue, tape, and wax clips used for hanging items on the walls have left residue on the walls. We need help removing the old hot glue, tape, wax, and vinyl letters to prepare for painting. This would be a great social activity for you and a couple of friends to stop in during the day and help scrape the walls. We will provide the scrapers and heat guns you provide the elbow grease!~. This can be done during the school day or can be scheduled once school is out.
Click the "I CAN HELP" link below to let us know you would be willing to help prep the walls!
Field Day- Help Needed
This year's field day is Wednesday, May 22. The opening ceremony will begin at 8:30. From 8:45- 1o:45 grade levels will rotate through 8 stations, each 15 minutes in length, including travel time. Some stations are relays, while other stations are team-building activities. We would love to have parent volunteers to manage each station alongside a Jefferson staff member. Teachers will be traveling with their classes to each station. Volunteers will be needed from 7:30 till 11:00- CLICK HERE TO HELP WITH FIELD DAY!
