The Brown County ESC provided the Mini-Society program that focused on economics . Students learned basic economics principles such as scarcity, supply, demand , opportunity cost and profit . Students created their own businesses and learned teamwork, marketing and promotional skills. Additionally, the students created their own country and elected officers . The Kauffman Foundation (located in Kansas City) created the original Mini-Society activity. The teachers and students appreciated Mrs. Becky Cropper and Mrs. Beverley Holsted (of the Brown County Educational Service Center) who served as the instructors . The students had a wonderful time!

They enjoyed performing and bringing characters to life, which in turn, made it easier to compare and contrast a generous character to an unmerciful character! Way to go, actors! Way to represent the Blue Jay Nation!
Red Oak Presbyterian Church Contributes to RULH Food Pantry!
The Red Oak Presbyterian Church has donated monthly to the RULH School Pantry for the past two years. Although the pantry receives grant money from the Freestore Foodbank, it is limited with what can be purchased and how much can be spent. Hygiene products are one item that is needed frequently. Red Oak Presbyterian Church supplements the pantry with other needed items that are not on the list to purchase from the Freestore Foodbank. With this generosity, the RULH Food Pantry is able to keep the pantry stocked in order to meet student needs. The RULH Food Pantry couldn't do this without the contributions of the Red Oak Presbyterian Church. Thank you, Red Oak Presbyterian Church!
