Paschal HS
The Lady Panther’s soccer team played in the 13th Annual Jonny Baggett Tournament this weekend. Despite the cold and windy conditions the Panthers brought home the 3rd place trophy! Paschal beat Palo Duro 2-0 on Thursday. Keris Neuweiler and Marcy McCracken each had a goal while Ayden Leonard and Kris Martinez both played goal keeper and shutout Palo Duro . Friday was a tough match and Paschal lost to the eventual tournament winners, Wichita Falls Rider. Keris Neuweiler put a shot in the back of the net in that game as well! Paschal won 1-0 on Saturday’s game against Brewer High School with Maria Gober getting the game’s lone goal. The defense played outstanding led by two of the team’s captains: Josephine Steed and Claire Addington. The Lady Panthers start district this week against Chisolm Trial and Haltom. So come out and support your Lady Panther’s soccer team!
North Side HS
North Side’s JVB team went undefeated in the Heights and Hill tournament. They played great all weekend and beat Birdville 2-1 to secure the championship.

North Side HS: Christopher Lunsford
I am Christopher Lunsford, the Head Girls Soccer Coach for North Side High. I started with FWISD in 2003 at J.P. Elder Middle School where I coached Soccer, Cross Country, and Track. I moved up to North Side three years later and became the Boy's JV Soccer coach where I enjoyed coaching with Head Coach Garth Briggeman for many successful years. I moved over to become the Girls Head Coach in 2017-18 and became the Girls Athletic Coordinator in 2018-19.
I began playing soccer when I was three years old and can only remember missing one season since then. I played Club Soccer for Challenge, American Eagles, and FC Lynx. I don't think any of those clubs still exist because I'm getting old and that was a long time ago.
My greatest soccer memory was scoring a goal in the Dallas Cup Super Group during the opening ceremonies while thousands of fans cheered USA, USA, USA because an American team was actually winning a game in the Super Group.

FWISD Swimming
Paschal HS
The past weekend the Paschal Swimming and Diving Team competed at Districts in Justin Texas. We are in one of the toughest districts in the north Texas area when it comes to swimming. Overall in this meet, our swimmers really responded well to the challenges and stepped up and came through and earned some bids to swim in the regional meet. We had some great solid swims all across the board and I am well pleased. In the individual events Grant Chapa, a sophomore, won gold in the 200 IM and 100-yard backstroke. He will be advancing to regionals looking to earn his first possible bid to competing at state. On the girls side, Ryan Louden came through and got 4th place in the 100 fly and 5th place in the 200 free. In both events she has qualified and will be competing at regionals individually as well.
On all 3 relays our boys did well and qualified and will be advancing to regionals. On the girl’s side, our girls will have 2 relays advancing to compete at regionals. Make sure you congratulate these kids. They really did well to represent Paschal and represent Fort Worth. From Coach Soto:
I am proud of our tennis team because they had to cougar (cowboy) up to fight the freezing weather and early morning. Every player did a great job and we had plenty of opportunities to win in medal matches. Arturo Salgado and Karen Medina were able to win 2nd place in their mixed doubles matches. Jaineel Patel and Jorge Urbina were able to place 3rd in their highly competitive males' doubles bracket.
