Principal's Corner
Hello Thornton HS Students and Families:
As we continue this school year, we want to emphasize the importance of every member of our community feeling seen, valued, and heard. Thornton is a place where every voice matters, and we are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where each of you can thrive. Your unique perspectives and contributions make our community stronger, and we encourage you to actively participate in school life.
As progress reports are being distributed, we urge you to review them carefully. These reports are vital tools in understanding a student's academic journey. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out and schedule meetings with a Thornton Staff member. Open communication is key to ensuring students receive the support needed to succeed.
Let's continue working together to create a school environment where everyone is respected and empowered to achieve their best. We hope to see you next Thursday, 9/12 at our annual FCC! See flyers attached.
Respectfully,
Dennie Marenco, Ed.D.

Student Spotlight
Noah Ace
Like so many of our students, transferring to Thornton is a way for junior Noah Ace to catch up on high school credits and benefit from our small class sizes. Although he had fun at his previous school, he was easily distracted. And it was such a big school that he wasn't always able to get the help he needed. At Thornton, Noah Ace shared, "The staff and students are chill, Dr. Marenco is chill. Everyone seems to be accepting of differences." When asked how he does self-care, the sixteen-year-old listed a few: Music helps him focus on his work. He feels more comfortable around his friends, who help him make good choices. And skateboarding helps with his confidence and balance.

What do you love most about the Thornton community? I absolutely love the children. I love them like my own when I'm here. I wouldn't work anywhere else. I found my home.
