PRM Off-Site Evacuation Drill on Thursday, 10/10
Dear Parents of PRM Students,
As you may know, we conduct drills each month to ensure the safety of our students and staff in any potential emergency situation. Next week, we will be practicing our off-site evacuation/reunification procedure, which is the action we would take if there were a situation in which we needed to evacuate our school and could not remain on our campus. This drill will take place on Thursday, October 10th, with the assistance and support of the Kinnelon Police Department.
The drill will involve our students and staff evacuating our building, and then walking to the DPW facility on Kinnelon Road. We anticipate that the drill will last approximately one hour, and our students will be outside for the duration of that time. We ask that you please encourage your child to dress for the weather and wear comfortable footwear. Please also note that students cannot be picked up during the drill. We will send a notification once the drill is complete.
We greatly appreciate your support as we continue to do all we can to ensure the safety of our students and staff. If you have any questions, please contact the main office at PRM.
Sincerely yours,
Mark P. Mongon Sophia Yosifides Vincent Shivas

Social Outreach Club and Project Kind
The Social Outreach Club, or SOC, is a group that is focused on helping others. This is a very popular club at PRM, which says so much about the caring and giving nature of our PRM students and families. Earlier this week, Dr. Medler (our SOC advisor) and the Social Outreach Club volunteers assembled gift bags of skin care products that went to two different groups. Some were sent to hurricane victims in North Carolina, and the rest were donated to Project Kind, which helps those in need.
Our students assembled the care bags during their lunch periods. We are proud of them for taking time out of their day to help others, and the enthusiasm with which they did this was heartwarming. We know that their kindness will be felt far beyond our school, and we thank Dr. Medler and the Social Outreach Club members for always looking to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

PRM State Testing Information for 2024-2025
Each year, students across New Jersey take the Student Learning Assessments, which are tests designed to measure students' progress on grade-level state standards. Recently, this information about our district's state testing was shared with all parents in tested grade levels.
At PRM, our students will take the New Jersey Student Learning Assessments according to the following schedule:
- April 29-30: NJSLA English/Language Arts (grades 6, 7, and 8)
- May 1-2: NJSLA Math (grades 6, 7, and 8)
- May 5-6: NJSLA Science (grade 8 only)
On the testing days for language arts and math (April 29-May 2), students will test from 8:20-10:20, and then students will go to periods 1-8 during the times that they typically would when we use our delayed opening schedule. On the science testing days, our 8th graders will test in groups according to their science periods. Additional details about state testing will follow as the date approaches.
