Greetings Bulldogs!
We are looking forward to another year of our student athletes showcasing their skills and continuing on their high school athletic careers. We are very proud of the support the community gives to these student athletes and coaches that spend countless hours in preparation for each event. Here at West York, we take pride in the way our community conducts itself and we hold our Bulldogs in high esteem.
While attending West York events, safety is not only a priority but an expectation. It is our duty to provide a safe environment for all spectators, fans, and student athletes. We ask that the community please adhere to District protocols to help us ensure a safe event. In the event of an emergency, please contact an event staff member who will address your needs.
At athletic events, sportsmanship is an expectation. Please remember that student athletes, coaches, officials and event staff are all amateurs and give their best efforts in the spirit of competition. We want to assure you that we are all going to do the very best that we can to give you a fun and fair game. Your paid or complimentary admission allows you to enjoy the exhibition of skills developed by student athletes in an educational setting. We ask that you give our student athletes positive encouragement and support. Booing, taunting, or intimidating coaches, officials, or players is unsportsmanlike and unacceptable. This behavior could result in removal from the facility. We ask that spectators police themselves and hold others accountable at events.
Generally, when attending events at West York, the following procedures apply:
Alcohol, tobacco, illegal drugs and vape products are strictly prohibited on school property.
No banners, noise makers, body paint, masks/costumes or signs are allowed.
Unauthorized items (balls, skateboards, bookbags, equipment, etc) should not be brought into the facility.
Ticket prices are $5 for adults and $3 for students and senior citizens. NO RE-ENTRY!
All K-8th grade students are required to enter with an adult. Adults must be over 18 and not in high school (not an older sibling in high school). The adult accompanying the school student(s) is responsible for their behavior and well-being throughout the duration of the sporting event.
Unaccompanied WYASD High School Students must present their school ID.
The expectation is that all spectators watch the game from the stands. Students will not be permitted to gather in groups in areas that include, but are not limited to: ticket gates, bathrooms, concession area & other grassy areas.
Stadium spectators should not be along the fence in front of the cheerleaders.
Stadium seating, starting at the side closest to the concession stand, will be the West York Student Section, then the Marching Band Section, and the general public will have the remaining bleachers.
Gymnasium spectators may use the lower main gym entrance during warmups, halftime & at the conclusion of the event. Spectators will be asked to use the stairwell/mezzanine to enter/exit the gym once play is about to begin.
No one is permitted behind or under the bleachers.
No students, parents, or spectators are permitted on the field/court immediately following the game unless authorized by school personnel.
YAIAA, District III, and PIAA Rules and Regulations will be followed.
Thank you for partnering with us to provide a safe and respectful environment for all members of both school communities to cheer on their respective teams, and to celebrate the talents of the student-athletes.
Once again, our ultimate goal is to provide a safe, positive, & enjoyable experience for all of our fans! All of our athletic schedules can be found online at arbiterlive.com/Teams?entityld=25419 or on the athletics’ page on the district website.
