Superintendent Community Update

Superintendent's Message
Dear JUHSD Community,
This week, I want to take a moment to reaffirm our dedication to fostering a safe and inclusive community while sharing an important resource to support our students and families.
Student safety and well-being remain a top priority in JUHSD. We take concerns seriously and respond appropriately to ensure our schools remain a place where everyone feels safe, valued, and heard. By working together, we can continue fostering a healthy, supportive, and connected environment for all.
As a reminder, we encourage students and families to use the STOPit App - a valuable tool for anonymously reporting concerns. We introduced the app last year and remain committed to providing this resource to ensure that everyone has a safe and confidential way to share important information. Your voice matters, and together, we can continue building a strong and secure school community.
STOPIT Highlights
Anonymity with Accountability: STOPit provides a completely anonymous, two-way reporting system. It allows users to report school or classroom concerns and issues to adults on campus that they would otherwise be uncomfortable to share. Students can report school or site concerns, threats of violence, bullying, or other issues without fear of being identified. This ensures that every voice can be heard.
Quick Action: Reports go directly to school administrators, enabling us to respond swiftly and effectively. The two-way communication feature lets administrators gather more details while protecting the reporter’s identity.
I encourage students and families to download the STOPit App and use it responsibly. Let’s make a difference—one report, one conversation, one act of kindness at a time.
With gratitude,
Toni Presta

Westmoor High School
Westmoor's Model UN students attended the San Francisco MUN conference on Jan. 25 & 26. The theme for this year's SFMUN was the “The Power of Unity.” SFMUN aims to bolster student involvement with the United Nations through an innovative conference designed to allow to students to realize and reach their potential. It provides a platform for delegates to strengthen their diplomacy and public speaking abilities. Students are inclined to draft creative solutions to some of the world’s most hard pressing issues building their propensity for teamwork and fostering their leadership skills.
JUHSD is proud of the Westmoor delegates who attended this event!

Honoring Black History Month
In February, Black History Month is celebrated to honor the achievements of African Americans and to recognize their central role in U.S. history. Since 1976, every American president has designated February as Black History Month and endorsed a specific theme.
Take this time to learn more about Black history and culture and celebrate the African American educators in our community. Learn more about Black History Month from the County Office of Education’s website.
